• Any swimmer who does not purchase a team suit is asked to wear a black or black/maroon arena

• We are asking that swimmers do not wear the old suits from last year. We want MSC swimmers to have similar suits.

Swim Caps

​

• All new swimmers and swimmers moving up to a new age bracket will receive a Mechanicsburg swim cap at Time Trials.

​

• If your swimmer is not going to be time trials they will get their cap at the first meet.

​

• We do not encourage swimmers to wear their team caps or suits to practice.

​

• If you would like to purchase caps with your swimmer’s name on them, let us know. We can do a bulk order for them. Minimum 2 cap requirement.

Time Trials

• This is a mock swim meet and will take place on Wednesday, May 27th.

• All families are expected to volunteer, if their swimmer is participating

• We are in need of people to learn the computer system and timing equipment. If you are interested please email MSCexecboard@gmail.com

What you need to know about Meets...

Declaring for Meets and Invitationals

• From the Website go to Calendar�
• Click on Team Events�
• Find the meet or event

• Click on the red Attend/Decline button

• All meets have a sign up deadline
• Click “Edit Commitment”
• Choose your swimmer. If you have multiple kids you will need to do this for each swimmer

• Use the drop down menu to select Yes- sign me up OR No Thanks

​

• Click Save Changes in the bottom right

​

Clearances

• 1 set of clearances required per family
• Clearances valid for 5 years
• Volunteer Clearances fees are waived

Concessions Assistance

• We are asking families to donate at least 1 item, or
• Contribute $5 - $10 dollars towards concessions.

Volunteer Requirements

• It takes roughly 35 volunteers to hold successful meet

​

• In order to receive your $100 volunteer refund you must volunteer at 5 times. You can earn up to 2 credits per meet.�
• Concession Stand is the only volunteer positions that do NOT require clearances

​

• Time Trials DO NOT count towards your volunteer refund.

• After declaring your swimmer, return to the Team Events Calendar Page to sign up to volunteer
• Click on the Green Job Sign Up button to see available positions

• Choose the job you would like to sign up for and click the green Sign Up Button

Divisionals/All-Stars

• All swimmers who participate in at least 3 dual meets qualify for Divisionals
• Swimmers/Families choose the events for that meet
• 3 individual events

• Relay participation is optional
• From Divisionals the top 16 in individual events and the top 8 in relays from the LEAGUE move onto All-Stars.

Invitationals

• Optional swim meets offered throughout the season

• Participation in these events requires an additional fees

​

• Fees are to be paid ahead of the meet and required regardless of participation once meet deadline passes
• Fees should be paid to an executive board member

• Fees can be paid by cash or check. Please do not give money to coaches

​

• Any fee not paid by the meet will be charged to the credit card on file, along with processing fees of 2.95% + .30 per transaction.

​

• Can pay via Paypal.

Linwood Nester Invitational

• First invitational hosted by MSC at the new pool in honor of former coach Linwood Nester

​

• Wednesday - June 24th 6:30 PM

​

• All proceeds will go towards supporting future athletes

USA Swimming

• MSC is offering a USA Swim Option for swimmers who are looking for a higher level of competition

​

• Eligible swimmers are 9 and older

​

• Fees are assessed on a meet-to-meet basis

​
