All guests & grads enter thru M-Gate along Milvia St.

Grads go to Donahue Gym.

Guests head to the bleachers.

Graduation Day is June 4

  • All Seniors will stage in the Donahue Gym.
  • No In & Outs.
  • Please do not bring bags or outside food/beverage.
  • Water will be provided.
  • Complete a Grad Card. (Name, Phonetic spelling )
  • Check in with your Line Leader.
  • Wait inside the Donahue Gym.
  • Listen carefully for instructions about the procession.

Graduation Entrance

All guests & grads enter along Milvia St.

Grads enter through M-Gate and go to Donahue Gym.

Guests enter through Athletic Plaza closer to softball field head to the bleachers.

Clear Bag Policy

Only clear tote bags, plastic storage bags, or small clutch bags are allowed inside Jacket Stadium.

Prohibited Items

  • Balloons
  • Flowers
  • Any item that could obstruct views of the ceremony or seating

Guests with these items will be instructed to return them to their vehicles or leave them unattended at the gate.

***Personal sunshade is allowed provided that it doesn’t block any visibility of the ceremony.

Wristbands

Please remember that all guests must have a wristband to enter graduation.

No wristband, no entry.

If you have not picked up your wristbands, then please stick around after the meeting to pick it up.

In addition, we can no longer accommodate any switching of ceremonies.

ADA Seating

Seating is General Admission.

ADA Seating is available in the first few rows & at the top level of the bleachers using an elevator.

Cap & Gown

  • Achievers Inc. will be present from

9:00 am - 5:00 pm for all of your grad needs;

    • Cap and gown pickup or sales only (no new loaners are available)
    • Immediately after the ceremony ends, remember to drop off your loaner gown at the Achievers tent!
    • Find their tent near the Donahue Gym.

Fashion Tips from Mr. V

  • Check the weather! Afternoon tends to be hot, while the morning may be overcast.
  • Wear comfortable shoes.
  • You are allowed to decorate your cap!
  • Tassel starts on the right side.

  • ADA accessible parking in staff parking lot.
  • Please have your family complete the form if they need accessible seating or parking.

  • Cash or Credit. (~$2-5 per hour)

Ceremony

  • Caps & Gowns MUST be worn at graduation; tassels start on right! You may decorate the cap, but not the gown.
  • Gifts & flowers should be received after the ceremony. Guests with these items will be asked to return them to their vehicle.
  • No inflatable balls, etc. Students engaged in disruptive behavior will be escorted out.

Complete grad card, meet line leader, mingle, and line up

15 minutes before: Stage Grad Lines

0 minutes before: Begin Procession

Speeches, performances, diploma lines, cap toss…yay!

End: All graduates & guests will exit out of Jacket Stadium through the MLK Gate.

Please remind families that we will need to clear campus/parking…

Program

After graduates are seated, the program will begin.

  • Speakers, performances, etc. for ½ hour.
  • Receipt of diplomas for about 1 hour.

RESPECT YOUR CLASSMATES THROUGH THE ENTIRE CEREMONY.

This is not just your day,

but everyone’s day!

Diploma Lines will form on each side of the stage.

You will walk onto stage, receive diploma, and then down center ramp to return to your seat.

Graduation Exit

All guests & grads will exit through the gate along MLK Jr. Way.

Recessional

  • After the graduation is over, you will recess with your line out of Jacket Stadium to meet your family and friends in front Campus Green.
  • We will play one walk-out song before we begin gently pushing you all to exit.
  • Please let your folks know that they will not be able to meet you on the field or track.

Grad Pics

Professional photographers will take pictures of the event including the diploma pic and one individual pic. They are available for free as a download or for order at an additional cost.

There will be a livestream of each ceremony and replay available on YouTube.

Jacket Pride

  • Support each other to make good decisions! (grades, behavior, celebration...)
  • Be an ambassador of Berkeley High!
  • Take Pride in your school!
  • The paper toss is not a celebration since real people that are BHS have to take time out of their busy schedule to clean up. We need your help to prevent this tradition and/or help clean up.
