Attendance

  • Excused absence
    • Sick, medical appointment, dental appointment, optometric appointment
    • Personal reasons which cannot be avoided
    • Parents must clear attendance by calling the school
  • Unexcused absence
    • Skipping class, vacation trips during school, car/traffic problems
  • Consequences for absences (per semester per class)
    • 1, 2, and 3 absences parents are notified. Detention.
    • More than 3 absences = Truancy

  • 230 Credits
    • American Government/Economics: 10 credits

    • Electives: 70 credits = 7 classes

    • English: 40 Credits

    • Fine Art/Foreign Language: 10 credits

    • Life Science (Biology or Agri-Bio): 10 credits

Graduation Requirements vs A-G Requirements

  • History: Graduation needs 4 year. A-G needs 2 years
  • Physical Education: Graduation needs 2 years. A-G does not need PE.
  • Foreign Language/Art:

-Graduation requires 1 year of foreign language OR Art.

-A-G requires 2 years of foreign language AND 1 year of Visual/Performing Art.

  • Electives: Graduation require 70 credits (7 year long classes). A-G require 10 credits (1 year long class)
  • Grades: Graduation requires at least a “D” grade or higher for credit. A-G requirements need at least a “C” grade or higher to apply.

Real Life Learning: Community Service

  • Total needed for graduation: 35
  • Ms. Hoffman- Community Service Liaison
  • Colleges do not require a set amount of Community Service Hours, but it looks good on application
  • Can not be paid for community service. Volunteering (Non-profit organization)

    • PSAT/NMSQT- October 17th, 2024- National Merit Scholarship
    • Register for the exam through Total Registration: $35
    • Payment must be received by September 27th
