Victoria Computer Club, April 22 2020, 10am
Why use headphones
Stops feedback from loud speakers into microphones. Feedback causes delayed echo and rumbling, not the screech of PA systems.
Microphones are built into webcams, into laptops, into mobile devices and into some earphone cables.
Unless you are muted throughout the zoom meeting, feedback will rumble or echo into the zoom meeting. This becomes cumulative, the more people in the meeting

Headphone plugs and jacks
Computer towers usually have separate green speaker jacks (headphone) and pink microphone jacks. The compatible headphone plugs have 3 poles: Tip-Ring-Sleeve (TRS)
Mobile devices have one combined headphone with microphone jack. The compatible headphone plugs have 4 poles: Tip-Ring-Ring-Sleeve
Laptops may have two separate jacks or one combined jack.
