Academic reinforcement is another name for study hall. During AR, students will be able to:
What Academic Reinforcement is NOT
Personal Electronic Devices
Personal Electronic Devices (cell phones, earbuds/airpods, headphones, etc) are to be put away during class. The SWCS Board of Education policy is the “Phones are to be turned off and out of sight during class time”. There is a cell phone holder at the front of the room for students to use so that they are not tempted to get out their phones during class.
Accountability:
At Jackson we ROAR! Accountability is the A in ROAR. To help students be accountable for their learning the Mustard, Ketchup, Pickle approach will be used in AR.
Mustard- Must do assignments (Things that are due within the next 24 hours)
Ketchup- Catch up assignments (Absent work or missing assignments)
Pickle- Pick what you would like to do
For students who have no missing assignments on Friday, they will be able to “Pickle” things including playing card games with other members of the class, coloring or quietly talking.
CELL PHONE USE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED!!!
