Create thematic maps for map.geo.admin.ch
using google fusion tables and KML Import function of map.geo.admin.ch

What you need
Prepare your THEMATIC data
Google Spreadsheet with an id (eg “code”)
Prepare your GEOREFERENCE data
Google FUSION table (import your SHP or KML file) with an identical id (“code”)
For your convenience we made the following reference table available for you (make a copy in google fusion)
Import THEMATIC Data to fusion tables
in google drive:
- create-> fusion table
Select the THEMATIC spreadsheet
- import it, define a table name (eg Statistics)
- allow exports
Add the GEOREFERENCE to the THEMATIC fusion table
in the newly created fusion table (e.g statistics)
use the MERGE function
...select the georeference table...
use the matching id’s (eg code)
- View the merged table at the of the dialog
- change the name of the fusion table name “merge of “x” and “y” since it will be part of the pop up

Define the COLOR of your data:

Define the POPUP info
Result: (Tipp using filter you can filter your data)
Export your data as KML...
Import the KML into map.geo.admin.ch
Share the KML to your users
A) Send it by mail and add the instruction on how to ad a local file: http://help.geo.admin.ch/?id=64
B) Save the KML on a webspace and embed the KML as URL as shown in http://help.geo.admin.ch/?id=64 and share the map as explained in http://help.geo.admin.ch/?id=52 : map.geo.admin.ch will load with your data

Bugfixing
The kml generated by fusion table does sometimes not export correct color schemes.
