Life Story

Niels Bohr was born in Copenhagen on October 7th, 1885. His father was Christian Bohr, a Professor of Physiology at Copenhagen University, and also his mother Ellen. Niels and his younger brother Harold (the future Professor in Mathematics) grew up in an atmosphere that made them genius. Niels' father was an eminent Physiologist and was the one who opened his interests in physics while he was still in school, his mother came from a family that was distinguished in the field of education. In 1903 Neils entered the Copenhagan University and came under the guidance of Professor C. Christiansen, Neils took my Master's degree in Physics in 1909 and my Doctor's degree in 1911. In 1962 Niels died at the age of 77 from a heart attack in Copenhagan.

Discoveries

Niels Bohr is a great contributor to the periodic table. With out his great discovery the electrons in atoms and the energy levels in atoms would be impossible to comprehend. He was in fact the person held responsible for the discovery of electrons in atoms being arranged according to the energy levels.

Bohr Model

I Niels Bohr had a magnificent theory. That theory is that a positively charged nucleus has electrons rotating around it according to the structure of the solar system.
