Choice 1:Hydroponics

Choice 2:Piezoelectric

Choice 3:Economic activity

I know Hydroponics is a technology that you use to grow vegetables and fruit faster and anywhere.Hydroponics is faster than traditional soil based growing system. You can put any freshwater fish in the aquaponic system, most popular being tilapia and barramundi because they tolerate better diverse water conditions and grow fast

.Trouts can be especially for lower temperatures.other aquatic animal you can grow is shrimp and snails.Hydroponics does not need soil, less parasites, faster growth, labor savings.

I know Piezoelectric is a technology that when you put pressure it creates electricity. It was founded at 1880 by Pierre and Jacques Curie. It stops pollution by creating electricity when putting pressure. Not like burning fossil fuel Piezoelectric does not create pollution.Piezoelectric is a way to make electricity.

I know there are two types of economic activity.Economic activity is when you are paid to do work.Non economic is when you are not paid to work.

I’d love to learn more about it and how was it made

I’d love to learn how was it discovered.

I’d love to learn a lot more about the types and more.

Reflect on your interests and the social issues.

Are there any ideas that connect to technology?

What might you want to explore during your exhibition?

My Transdisciplinary Theme

I chose this theme because…

Central Idea

“Technological advancements impacts social issues, driving change and promoting sustainable development”

Key Concept

Line of Inquiry

Function

Different types of Hydroponic systems to support plant growth

Causation

The discovery and development of Hydroponics

Change

How Hydroponics has changed over time to improve plant growth and sustainability

  • When I found out that my coach had a hydroponic farm, I became curious. I researched more about hydroponics. This is why I decided to choose hydroponics as my topic.

Idea 1

Idea 2

Idea 3

  • I want to show people that this system is possible to do, and hopefully showing some samples in school will help them start their own hydroponic system at home.

Inquirers

We nurture our curiosity, developing skills for inquiry and research. We know how to learn independently and with others. We learn with enthusiasm and sustain our love of learning throughout life.

Knowledgeable

We develop and use conceptual understanding, exploring

knowledge across a range of disciplines. We engage with issues and ideas that have local and global significance.

Thinkers

We use critical and creative thinking skills to analyse and take

responsible action on complex problems. We exercise initiative in making reasoned, ethical decisions

Communicators

We express ourselves condently and creatively in more than

one language and in many ways. We collaborate effectively, listening carefully to the perspectives of other individuals and groups.

Principled

We act with integrity and honesty, with a strong sense of fairness and justice, and with respect for the dignity and rights of people everywhere. We take responsibility for our actions and their consequences.

Open Minded

We critically appreciate our own cultures and personal histories, as well as the values and traditions of others. We seek and evaluate a range of points of view, and we are willing to grow from the experience

Caring

We show empathy, compassion and respect. We have a

commitment to service, and we act to make a positive difference

in the lives of others and in the world around us.

Risk Taker

We approach uncertainty with forethought and determination;

we work independently and cooperatively to explore new ideas and innovative strategies. We are resourceful and resilient in the face of challenges and change.

Balanced

We understand the importance of balancing different aspects of

our lives—intellectual, physical, and emotional—to achieve

well-being for ourselves and others. We recognize our interdependence with other people and with the world in which we live.

Reflective

We thoughtfully consider the world and our own ideas and

experience. We work to understand our strengths and weaknesses in order to support our learning and personal development.

Being Internationally Minded

Choose 2-3 and delete the rest

After choosing 2-3:

  • Highlight which part you most need to work on
  • Add a textbox explaining why you chose each profile

How would I make a positive change in my community?

My Success Criteria

Copy and paste

I was successful because my presentation was good and my project is still on going. My project is still going because after my presentation sir Gino said we will make a Hydroponic system in school to make money for to improve the school.Sir Gino is going to make the name of the project “Zachary Lee Hydroponic system PYPX”.

I could’ve improved by

37 of 37

I used to think…

but now I think...

I used to think Hydroponic is just a way of growing plants without soil and its just a more eco friendly way to grow plants.

Now i think Hydroponics is overall a better way of growing plants and it has way more benefits then traditional soil, an example is Hydroponics use 80-90% less water.
