ORDER OF OPTIONS

Once you're at THEME OPTIONS, here's something you need to know:options are grouped by "type" and ordered as follows:

  • images - these have either a "camera" or "pen" icon on the right
  • colors - these have a "circle" on the right
  • dropdown options - these have a "down arrow" on the right
  • text fields - just text boxes with labels!

(i.e. image options are near the top, whilst text field options are near the bottom).

Within these groups, I've labeled each category with the cherry blossom emoji in hopes of making it easier for you to find your way around.

✩ I suggest changing stuff in images and colors first, since those are the easiest.

then, proceed with the rest of this guide.

MUSIC PLAYER

To change the song, scroll down to this part:

this is the mp3 link of your song.

if the song you want to use is a youtube video, you must first convert it to mp3: https://yt-to-mp3.carrd.co/

then, create a link for the song file following any of the methods listed here: https://linktr.ee/direct_file_links

I do not recommend using the dropbox method because for many people, the link will refuse to play.

change song name here

change artist name here

SIDEBAR

this is where your description goes. if you want to use your existing description, empty this box. the customize panel is super buggy so your description might not show, so to make sure it actually does, open your blog in a new tab and check it there.

BONUS: due to popular demand, I've now decided to share with you the exact code I used for the description for my Parfait preview!https://pastebin.com/raw/1JuaA4b6

SEARCHBAR

For the searchbar to work properly, you need to make sure your blog is visible in search results in your blog settings: https://tumblr.com/settings/blog/your-blog-name

Scroll down to Visibility and make sure BOTH are on GRAY:

The searchbar is currently enabled. If you don't want the searchbar, turn the show searchbar option from show to hide.

NAVLINKS

"Navlinks" refer to these square-looking links in the sidebar:

the '+' icon will only appear if you choose to have your customlinks on "toggle"

OPTIONAL:

If you want to change where they link to (for example, change the /ask url to /faq ), you need to go into Edit HTML to do this.

Once you're there, bring up the searchbar by pressing Ctrl+F (CMD+F for Mac).type div boxlinks into the searchbar and Enter.

you can edit or add to the navlinks as you like, but please don't touch the credit.

icons you can choose from: https://lucide.dev/

(just copy the icon name and replace it in icon-name="")

(basic html knowledge recommended)

CUSTOM LINKS

"Custom links" refer to these:

I recommend keeping them short in terms of width.you can make the text jump to a new line by pressing Enter:

result:

if you want your custom links to ALWAYS show without having to click the '+' icon, change this to always show.

HEADER IMAGE

header size:❀ current header's size is 1280 x 427❀ the height is automatic, so it doesn't matter

click remove to remove the header image (if you don't want the text stuff under the header image, I'll explain it in the next slide)

click choose a photo to change the image

POST SHADOW

if you don't want shadows, change this to 0%

(that's all you need to do, no need to adjust the size or blur after that)

✩ these shadow settings apply to:

  • header
  • posts
  • image lightboxes (when you click an image on a post, it opens up as a focus)

13 of 15

POST BORDERS

Post borders are currently turned off for a more seamless look (since there's a faint shadow to separate the posts)

To enable post borders, turn that to yes.

Once you've done that, the color for post borders can be changed:

POST TAGS

If you've added any tags to your posts, they are currently hidden until you click the hashtag icon:

If you want your tags to be visible at all times, change click tags to no.
