Professional Development

Serve as Ambassadors for the office & learn more about leadership through our involvements, experiences, & future endeavors.

Attend multiple workshops and retreats throughout the year that are focused on what we can learn in order to develop ourselves professionally.

Support the President's Office staff in various projects and events throughout the entire year and carry out our own special projects.

Engage in biweekly meetings to create dialogue and hear from various departments and community members on initiatives.

Responsibilities of Presidential Student Ambassadors

• Act as an advisory group on student issues and perspectives to the staff of the President’s Office when appropriate
• Engage in discussions with the President, President’s Office staff, Board of Visitors, Administration, and community leaders when appropriate
• Serve as university hosts at school functions on and off campus
• Attend bi-weekly meetings with other Ambassadors
• Work stipend per semester ($500, 20 hours)

Responsibilities of Presidential Student Interns

​

• Work a minimum of 10 hours a week in the Office of the President
• Coordinate PSA programming (meetings, location, speakers, food)
• Manage annual program budget via Google Sheets
• General office responsibilities such as helping with mail, organizing the office, and covering the front desk
• Facilitate bi-weekly meetings with Ambassadors
• Hourly pay

Eligibility

Full time undergraduate student Must be taking at least 12 credits at the time of applying to and the duration of participating in the program!

Desire to Engage and Learn PSA get an overall understanding of how VCU operates from all levels. Have a commitment to the year-long program and everything that we do! (flexibility)

GPA: 3.0 Be in good academic standing by while applying and maintain while in the program.

Friday biweekly meetings: 3:30pm-5pm Fridays are for PSA! Be prepared for biweekly Friday availability for meetings, workshops, trips, special events and much more!
