SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA ‘See the Light’ Stream
VIDEO TREATMENT by TENTACLE v4 23/05/23
> 27.05.23
We’ll be live for four hours with five cameras, to celebrate SHM launching their new single 'See The Light'.
The mission is to deliver a high-impact livestreaming experience that showcases Seb, Steve and Axwell's return to their underground house and techno roots with an extended b2b DJ set in a warehouse venue.
Stepping away from the big productions of recent EDM festival headline shows that fans have come to expect, this stream will strip back their performance to the essential elements - the music and energy in the room.
The overall approach is coherent with the best modern DJ content, whilst aiming for a unique and distinctive flavour.

CAMERA PLOT
There’s an obvious spot for this - a pillar directly in line with the stage.
The key decisions here are how wide, and how high.
1. DJ Wide
DJ Wide - recce
Attached to pillar directly facing stage
8’ height, lens between 16mm and 35mm
The DJ booth and the front rows of the audience, shooting from a position fixed to one of the side pillars.
We’ll confirm the optimal position during test day - several strong options to consider.
2. Alt Wide
Alt Wide - recce
Attached to SR pillar
9’ height, 27mm lens
A camera directly in front of the decks, on a tripod between the stage and the barrier, with a wide lens.
This angle shows more immediate context than the longer shots. It will feel the most dynamic and engaging, whilst the wider coverage provides scale and visual variety.
3. DJ Hero
+ Wide Lens
+ Not super-wide lens
+ At eye-height
+ Tilted down slightly
+ Unobtrusive lighting

5’ height (from stage), 12-14mm lens (slightly wider than shown)
Cross-shot from a closer fixed position, hidden behind one of the stage-corner pillars.
4. Profile MCU
Profile MCU - recce
Attached to SL corner pillar
6’ height (from stage), 35-50mm lens
Wireless camera on a gimbal in talented hands, guided by voice comms from the director and vision mixer.
5. Roaming
Lighting the venue and audience is handled by the LD. Large LED screens are suspended from the ceiling.
Lighting the artist is handled by Tentacle in liaison with LD. Mostly the house rig will have this covered, potentially supplemented by some hard back-light from small LED film lights upstage, and soft front fill from tube-lights in the desk.
The best camera for the job currently is the Sony FX3 - it’s one step up from the popular A7 series. All five cameras will be FX3s (pictured).
Staging & Event Creative are in the hands of Arun’s team.
> Production
Our vision mixer (who has directed more than 400 live DJ streams) and OB System are set up in a separate room. The mixer, colour correction and streaming encoder are fully hardware-based, with layers of redundancy for failsafe protection.
Our creative director is offsite, watching a realtime SRT stream, liaising with the onsite vision mixer and with Arun’s team as necessary.
Key event crew and remote stakeholders are connected to our comms network, as well as the realtime video feed.
We supply live video ref monitors onsite for the LD and for the artist green room.

After the event, the recording will be uploaded to our review platform. Client team will have a few days to review and leave notes within agreed scope.
We have one edit day to address any notes on the full-length 16x9 master whilst also creating 9x16 social cutdowns. These cutdowns are continuous excerpts from the master, with only titles and logos added.

Additionally, there’s the option of a 30” social promo edit. This would be more stylised, optimised for engagement and brand expression. Delivered as 1:1 and 9:16.
