Experiencing as a "prism" that refracts the influence of the environment on the child

  • The experiencing as a "prism" that refracts the influence of the environment on the child includes the specifics of the situation and the experience of the child.
  • The experiencing includes the value-semantic perception of the same situation by different children.
  • The strength and content of the experiencing of the situation depend on the age of the child, on intellectual development, on the characteristics of the character.
  • Conclusion: values and meanings are determined not by the objective circumstances of the situation, but by his subjective experiences based on his attitude to these circumstances and understanding of their meaning.

The uniqueness of the ways of living the situation in which the essence of a person is formed

  • Being and existence.
  • Human Existence as "being in situations« (Karl Jaspers).
  • Value is not transmitted by society and is not accepted by the individual.
  • The existential understanding of value self-determination is that value is "acquired", "appropriated" in situations lived and experienced by a person.
  • Conclusion: Existentialists consider situations of obstruction necessary for value self-determination and introduce the concept of a "borderline situation".

Experiencing a borderline situation as a source of value self-determination

  • "Borderline situations" are situations of suffering, experience, struggle, acceptance of guilt (Karl Jaspers).
  • Psychological trauma should be considered as a borderline situation in which its values and meanings are born.
  • Psychological traumas of children in situations of violation of child-parent attachment, situations of physical, mental, sexual violence.
  • Conclusion: Value is a derivative of the circumstances of a situation, experience and perception of its meaning. Repeated repetition of traumatic situations conditions a certain value structure.

Experiencing a borderline situation as a source of meaning formation

  • The meaning is found by a person in the realization of the "demand of the moment" in a specific situation, therefore the meaning of the same situation is individual for each person.
  • Three ways of forming the meaning of a borderline situation: creativity, experience, love (Viktor Frankl).
  • Conclusion: In an existential sense, value self-determination is not the goal of a person's life, but a consequence of his orientation towards the realization of meaning in the realization of a cause, in experience, in love for another person. Three groups of values – values of creation, values of experience, values of a person's attitude to the factors limiting his life (Viktor Frankl).

Value self-determination in the experience of psychological trauma in the logic of synergetic concepts: nonlinearity, fluctuations, bifurcation, chaos, attractor

  • The nonlinearity of the social situation of development is the possibility of unexpected changes in the child's life.
  • Fluctuations are positive or negative changes.
  • Fluctuations create chaos in a situation in which the child does not understand the meaning, the values are devalued.
  • Chaos contains an "abyss of potencies" - new possible values and meanings (attractors).
  • At the point of bifurcation, one of the attractors is "attracted", which most corresponds to the internal resources of the child and the resources of the environment surrounding him at the moment.
  • A new attractor on the wreckage of a destroyed value structure carries out the "assembly" of a new structure, and it becomes decisive for the behavior of the child.

Possible attractors (values and meanings) in the value-semantic chaos

  • In the first variant, at the bifurcation point, the negative fluctuation "attracts" the attractor of indifference to one's fate, submission (do with me what you want).
  • In the second variant, at the point of bifurcation, the attractor of aggressive protest is "attracted" from the value-semantic chaos (everything is bad, let it be even worse, and not only for me, but also for others).
  • In the third variant of the development of the social situation, the attractor of active overcoming is "attracted" from the value-semantic chaos (I feel bad now, but I can handle it).
  • The social situation of development in the language of synergetics is a process of mutual transition between order and chaos, where order is actual values; chaos is a borderline situation in which actual values lose their meaning.
  • The transition to a new level of value self-determination occurs at the point of bifurcation.

A new understanding of pedagogical support for value-semantic self-determination

  • Value self-determination is a self-organizing system.
  • It can "balance" on the edge of chaos, contains many discrete states and existential choices at bifurcation points.
  • Pedagogical support of value self-determination in terms of synergetics is a resonant excitation of positive attractors that determine the formation of value structures.

Conclusion

  • Value self-determination is a self-organizing system.
  • Value self-determination in a situation of experiencing psychological trauma "balances" on the edge of chaos, contains many existential choices at bifurcation points.
  • Pedagogical support of value self-determination is a resonant excitation of positive attractors that determine the formation of value structures.
