Setting Up your SAE project in your AET record book
Here is what you need to accomplish today!

Remember that AET is very sensitive to typing exactly the correct way!
Your user name and password ARE the SAME! Type them below- example it is usually the first letter of your first name and you last name- mine would be SLovfald

Sign into your AET Account:
Once you have logged in, you should have already
worked on your profile tab, if it is not complete,
we will go back to that at a later time.
We will now set up your SAE in your AET book
I will use one of your books as an example!!! If you are doing this on your own, I have made the next slides so you can do this yourself
Click tab that says journal
Click in left hand column
Project Experience Manager SAE
This is what your screen will look like before you add your SAE! Click box that says “Add New”
These apply to the picture on the next slide!!!!
The colors match the next slide
In the “Name Section” -Type your SAE project (Fava Beans, Home Improvement, etc).
In the Experience Focus Section choose type of project you have ( like Fava Beans are a school based project, Community service is service learning therest individual)
In the Tracking Your Experience Section, Basic is like career research, Research/Experimental is like the fava beans project
Job is work experience paid or unpaid
Business is Entrepreneurship/Ownership is owning something an animal etc. Click one of those
Primary Experience Category- choose from the list that best matches your SAE area
Primary Sub Category -Choose one if need be that matches your SAE area
CLICK SAVE!!!!!
When you have finished entering your SAE information, your page should look similar to this, CLICK SAVE AT BOTTOM!
Your AET should look like this now! Except your SAE
will be listed!
After SAE is set up, click
on pencil and complete your
program plan.
After you click pencil this is the screen that shows, depending on the type
of SAE you will have 3-4 tabs to complete! You are all familiar with sentence
frames so this part is very doable for you! Only use the sentence
frames per tab that applies to your SAE.
Copy and paste sentence frames to the box
below and fill in the plans.
The last tab is called learning objectives, when
you click the green plus sign that says
add/explore skill areas at the bottom….
Click and add three skill areas that apply to your project then click “Save and Back to SAE plan
Write at least one sentence in the boxes provided for each skill area. Click “Save all and return”
Once you have completed the tabs on your program plan AND SAVE it, your “Pencil” will have a green check by it!
And you are done
with it!!!
So now your SAE is set up and you have a program plan complete!!!
Here is the part that you will keep up on an weekly/monthly basis!
Your journal hours! And income if any and expenses if any!!!
Click on journal, then click on time in your AET Projects/Experience
Now you add the date, your project, your skill area, your time (hours) and
description of activity you have worked on. Then SAVE at the bottom!
You need to add ALL hours you have done or will do on your SAE from when you started your project until June!
The next part I will show you is adding money spent and money earned if you have any!
The next part is entering money earned from your project! Either in $$$$
or assumed value (like raising vegetables and them your family eating and
not having to buy them from a store! Let's start with New cash entries!
To enter cash income from your SAE click Enter Cash
Income, if you don’t receive money for your SAE you
will not do this page
New cash entries is cash money you receive for your SAE but not a paycheck like from
a business you work at. Example “selling” your vegetables back to your parents,
or mowing lawns for money, odd jobs for cash! Fill in Highlighted sections
If you do not receive cash for your SAE you DO NOT use this page
IF you have Expenses for your SAE you will enter
them in Enter cash expenses. If you don’t
have expenses you will no do this page.
If you have expenses
Enter then here!
Fill in Date, Vendor/Payee, then on Line 1, fill in Experience, Type and Amount
Click Save!
If you have a job and receive a paycheck you
will enter that here!
Enter your paycheck information here! Date,
Total Gross Pay, Taxes, Expenses and
Paycheck Hours. CLICK SAVE
The rest of your entries will be Community Service, FFA Activities, such as competitions, conferences,
Showing livestock, Offices Speaking Contest. They are all drop down menus and EASY to complete!
Put in Date, choose from Category of activity, Title or Subject, Type, Skill Area, Description Hours
AND SAVE
Here is a completed Community Service Entry! They are that easy to do! Remember they transfer to your resume!
I know that's a lot!!!! BUT you did it!!! It is repetition!!! Same concept every time
you are entering a new hours, income, expenses or activities! You have got this!!!
