JAMBOARD

Jamboard as an exit ticket strategy is a great, easy way to do a quick check of student understanding. In my 4th grade classroom, I use this Jamboard exit ticket strategy two ways, Individual Post-it and Group post-it methods. For both, I share it out on our Google Classroom.

Individual Post-it method: For this method students have their own, individual board where they can post one thing they learned in any subject. In this way they will post a different colored sticky note for each day of the week.

Group Post-it method: Teacher creates a question to ask the students about a specific topic. Students all post their sticky notes on the same frame. Students can read others notes to spark their own ideas.

FLIPGRID ~ QR CODES

Flipgrid is an easy to use video discussion platform which allows students to record video responses to just about anything. It is a creative way to spark curiosity, promote student voice, and keeps students engaged.

Specifically, I use Flipgrid the most often to create book reviews. Book reviews are great resources that allow students to listen to a student-created video about a particular book. This a great practice for summary writing. This allows us to keep an easy to access library of book summaries. In this way students can listen to a synopsis of a book to decide whether they want to read that book.
