Note About Course Requests:

The first step in the scheduling process is to enter course requests.

Course requests are NOT scheduled courses.

  • We build the master schedule based on the course requests in a way that allows the most amount of course requests to be scheduled.
  • We work very hard to honor first choice electives when building the master, but may not be able to if there is a conflict between two courses that was unavoidable in the master schedule
  • Because we build the master schedule based on your course requests, it is very important for you to consider your requests carefully
  • If there is a conflict on your schedule, you will resolve it in your individual scheduling meeting.

Scheduling Process:

  1. Review core course options on your Course Requests sheet (consult the Program of Studies for course sequencing requirements and/or prerequisites). Circle your selections on your sheet.
  2. Add up the number of credits you selected on the front side of your sheet and write the total in the space provided.
  3. Review grade specific elective course offerings (listed on the back of your Course Requests sheet). Circle the courses you are most interested in. Remember to consider other requirements.

Pay attention to the credit amounts to make sure that they match.

5. Next Steps

As mentioned before, scheduling requests are the first step in the scheduling process. Starting in late March, counselors will begin individual meetings for incoming 10-12 grade students. Toward the end of April, they will review and finalize schedules for incoming 9th Grade students. Schedules will be released in May. Approximate dates below (these can change):

  • Incoming Seniors: March 30-April 10
    • These 30 minute meetings will also include Junior Planning information and parents/guardians will be invited to attend
    • More information to come about how to schedule appointments
  • Incoming Juniors: April 13-April 17
  • Incoming Sophomores: April 20-24
  • Incoming Freshmen: your school counselor will review and finalize your schedule: April 27-30 (this will not be an individual meeting)
