In an educational environment SMART BOARDS are the best for what suits our needs.

UNFORTUNATELY they are not cost effective, although second hand models can be found.

They can cost around £1000 - £2000

TV'S

Large-screen TVs are increasingly replacing projectors in Madrasah and general classroom environments due to their superior brightness, image clarity, and lower long-term maintenance. Unlike projectors, which can struggle in sunlit rooms, LED and QLED TVs remain highly visible and sharp without needing to dim the lights.

They don't require lights to be off, and can run efficiently, and quietly, unlike projectors they don’t have a fans, so they don’t emit any noise.

They often come preloaded with a Smart Operating System, which allows YouTube, Presentation's and etc to be ran without the need of an external device, they also have built in Miracast/Screen Mirroring which means that connecting a Laptop or a Mobile Phone to Present just becomes a whole lot easier: No Cable's needed, Laptop can be placed anywhere, and the room stays wire and clutter free as there is no need for hanging wires or storing cable's that can get damaged and lost very easily.

TV'S

Modern Smart TVs are excellent for Madrasahs because they offer instant start-up and high-contrast 4K resolution, which makes complex Arabic script much easier for students to read. Unlike projectors, TVs remain clear in bright classrooms without needing to dim the lights, and they require almost zero maintenance since there are no expensive lamps or filters to replace. While they lack the built-in interactivity of some projectors, their superior sound quality for Quranic recitations and simple setup make them a highly reliable and cost-effective solution for daily lessons.

Projectors

Classroom Projectors are a huge benefit in an Educational Environment; they allow you to interact with your class in ways that are engaging, fun and simple for Student's and Teacher's alike.

Projectors are also Portable, allowing you to carry to another room entirely.

They also allow for a Massive Screen, allowing for Text, Images and Videos to be seen clearly, and often in great quality. When in a Large Classroom it fills the Space when on, and when switched off leaves the Room Clean and Empty.

ULTRA SHORT THROW

Ultra-short throw (UST) projectors are advanced devices designed to display massive, high-quality images from just inches away from a wall or screen. While they carry a premium price tag and require precise placement on perfectly flat surfaces to avoid distortion, they are highly space-efficient, eliminate distracting shadows from presenters, and protect viewers from eye glare. In a Madrasah environment, these projectors are particularly beneficial because they can transform small rooms into interactive learning spaces where teachers can write directly on a digital whiteboard without blocking the view. Additionally, their high brightness and long-lasting laser sources (often up to 30,000 hours) make them a reliable, low-maintenance choice for well-lit classrooms.

SHORT THROW

Short-throw (ST) projectors are versatile devices that can display large, immersive images—typically 100 inches or more—from a distance of about 3 to 8 feet. While they require slightly more distance than ultra-short-throw models, they are generally more affordable and offer greater installation flexibility, allowing for mounting on ceilings, desktops, or carts. However, because they are further from the wall, they are slightly more prone to shadows and glare if someone walks directly in front of the lens. In a Madrasah, short-throw projectors provide a perfect balance between cost-effectiveness and interactivity, enabling teachers to stand closer to the screen for visual demonstrations of complex concepts while maintaining eye contact with students.

LONG THROW

Long-throw projectors are the most traditional type, requiring a distance of 8 to 15 feet (or more) from the wall to create a large image. While they are usually the most affordable option and offer the best zoom and lens shift capabilities for flexible placement at the back of a room, they are highly prone to shadows and eye glare since the light beam travels across the entire classroom. In a Madrasah, these are best suited for larger assembly halls or deep classrooms where the projector can be mounted safely on a high ceiling or rear shelf, keeping it out of reach of students while providing a massive display for communal prayers or large-scale presentations.
