College and Counselor Recommendations

  • Take a challenging course load for you. This will look different for each of you:
  • For some, this is a regular course load, with perhaps some honors classes.
  • For others, it is a mixture of regular, honors, and AP courses.
  • For a few, this is honors and AP Courses in all subject areas.

DSA offers many AP, honors, and College Level Courses

Honors vs. Non-Honors classes

During the first week of every semester your teachers will go over the additional requirements for honors credit. You will have the first few weeks to decide whether you want honors or non-honors credit, but your class will not change. You will be able to do this for quite a few classes through 9th and 10th grade, and some in 11th and 12th grade.

  • Both honors and regular credit students will remain in the same class the same period.
  • AP and Concurrent enrollment courses are separate and don’t have the option of doing a lighter load with them.

Is it helpful?

Grade Tracker

  1. Write your name on the top.
  2. Put your classes in the boxes along the top.
  3. Write today’s date in the first line going down.

Please check your grades independently on you own device and write them on your grade tracker.

Your counselor will keep this for individual check-ins through the course of the semester to help support you with your academic progress.

Your grades from December and May go on your transcript, so you can still bring your grades up for this semester, if they aren’t where you would like them to be!
