Title III Funded Programs for English Learners

This year, Southeast High School will be using this program with some of our students:

Lexia® English Language Development

This program is computer-based and help students build their literacy skills. This resource is provided by federal Title III funds.

Lexia English

The activities in Lexia English are used to support our newest English learners (recently enrolled in U.S. schools for the first time).

Lexia English is an adaptive, blended learning program that supports students’ English language development through academic conversations. These activities are designed to help emergent multilingual students build English language proficiency in three key areas: speaking, listening, and grammar.

Here’s how Lexia works:

• Your learner begins at a starting point that fits their needs and works in online activities throughout the week.

​

• Online activities include direct instruction, repetition and feedback as your learner acquires new skills.

​

• Progress and performance in the program is reported, allowing teachers to provide help when needed.
