Prompt Overview

Pixie_Princess

Down the rabbit hole.

Alice in Wonderland, used in both parks with the Mad Tea Party flat ride, is shown double in Disneyland with the Alice in Wonderland dark ride.

Disneyland’s Fantasyland also has a roller coaster with the Matterhorn. Combining the two for a new coaster at Magic kingdom would be simply mad... wouldn’t it?

Ride Overview

Unlike a dark ride with will not be a simple scene by scene movie retelling, but simply a trip through various scenes in random order with none getting a more important treatment than the other. The out of order segments and the speed and sharp turns will help give this ride a trippy, otherworldly feel right in line with the movie.

Like the Matterhorn this will be a steel coaster with the same 4 person single file seats. The seats will be themed similarly to the Tea Cups with various bright colors and swirly designs.

However unlike the Matterhorn this ride will consist of only one track taking you through Wonderland and will be entirely indoors

Similar to the Matterhorn, this ride will be approximately 2:30min

Map

DTRH

My ride will be about the same size as Matterhorn, and will be place slightly behind and in between the Grand Prix Raceway and the 20,000 leagues under the sea.

It will also be along the same line of sight as the Mad Tea Party as shown on the map.

Opening

The start of the ride will have you follow the white rabbit up up up all the way to the top. You don’t see the rabbit until the very top of the lift, instead just following his voice as he frets about being late.

As you get to the top you see the rabbit just before you fall down the one major drop, leading you down the rabbit hole, with the tunnel looking very similar to the movie scene. As you level out you turn a corner leading you to the next “room.

Growing and Shrinking.

This ‘cavern’ room shows on the side a large drink me bottle as well as some cookies around the room. Everything up to this point has seemed true to size, but now as we “shrink” the props get bigger to change the perception.

Through the Doorknob

To get to the next ‘room’ we have to go through the doorknobs mouth which is HUGE now that we are small. This leads us into the flowers.

9 of 14

Golden Afternoon

This ‘room’ is slightly smaller than the first two and has all the flowers and foliage from the golden afternoon segment of the movie.

The Tweedles

Another smaller ‘room’ featuring our fun friends Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. Simply stand stills they watch as we speed off into the next room.

Doormouse

Our next character is the doormouse hanging above the entrance to the next room. As we start to get into the final ‘scene’ we see the signs pointing us to the Maddest of Tea Parties.

March Hare

The next ‘room’ we see the March Hare at the entrance to the Tea Party showing us the way to the end of our ride.

A Very Merry Unbirthday

Here in our last room our crazy ride slows to a crawl as we watch the only moving animatronic pour tea for our very own unbirthday party.

Back to Reality... or should I say Fantasyland

As the ride heads back out into the outdoor queue line to exit we leave through a swirly pink exit just like the movie. Here our ride ends and Fantasy(land) begins.
