Silent Warm Up

  • Grab a lyrics sheet from your desk
  • Glue it into your sketchbook in a location in which you have room to write next to it
  • While SILENTLY listening to the song, write down words or drawings that come to mind from the lyrics

Example:

…Guilty Cocker Spaniels eating table scraps…

I literally think about guilty looking dogs who have eaten off your plate at the table!

Mini Postcard Poster �For the song/band of your choice

  • Create a 7 ½ x 10 finished drawing that incorporates the song/band of your choice and text (1-6 words)
  • This can be a mini concert poster, fun band artwork or a make shift CD cover
  • Rough draft first
  • Transfer to nicer paper
  • Finished product should be neat and tidy in black ink with or without color

  • Pick your band and or song
  • Start brainstorming ideas. What do the lyrics bring to mind? Is their music happy? Sad? Angry? What colors represent this?
  • Start rough sketching in your sketchbook
