Most adverbs of manner are formed by adding – ly to adjectives.

Ex: slowly, loudly, quickly

When an adjective ends with – l, we add – ly

Ex: carefully, beautifully

When an adjective ends with – y , we remove –y and add -ly

Ex: happily, naughtily

For adjectives ending with – ll, We only add -y

Ex: fully

Sometimes, adverbs are formed without any changes in the adjectives.

Ex: fast, hard
