Start with a case and question related to the study if possible�

Discuss the title

• What do the authors claim they will demonstrate in the paper? “research question”
• Is it informative?

• How would you design the study based on the research question?�

You can ask a couple of questions regarding audience medical knowledge about the topic

Study setting

• Structure of the study (e.g, RCT, prospective study, etc.)?
• Who conducted the study?
• Where?
• When?
• Funded/Sponsor:
• What exactly they did? Researchers randomly assigned…

What inclusion criteria you would like & why?

What exclusion criteria you would like and why?

What primary outcome you would like?

What secondary outcomes you would like?

Statistical analysis

• Summarize the statistical analysis in a useful way and explain them to the best of your knowledge

Results

• Put all important tables and figures and ask audience what they think

Discussion

• What did authors say about their results?
• Ask audience if they agree?

Limitations

• What are the limitations stated by authors?
• Ask audience if they see any other limitations not mentioned by authors?

Conclusions

• What did the author state as their conclusion?
• Ask audience if they agree with that conclusion?

• Will this article change your practice in any way?
