This is a simple machine made of a lever and a fulcrum. What do you think it does?

Scissors are made of �two simple machines. This makes scissors compound machines. ��Here is one lever.

The two levers of the scissors pivot on a fulcrum.
It holds the levers together, and makes it easy to cut paper!
COMPOUND MACHINE
A combination of two or more simple machines!
Each cardboard piece is a lever.

Why does my
Art Machine smell like a campfire?
Because it’s made with
lasers!
Pop out your levers!
This is your bag of fasteners.
These will be our fulcra!
Connect two levers with one fulcrum.
Insert a fastener.
Separate the wings.
Press it flat!
Overlap
Put in
Fasten
Test
Make 2 more X’s.�Now you have 3.
Connect all three.

PRO TIP:
Make your face unique!
Draw a face. ��This example is very simple.
How could you make yours unique?
Draw the mouth all the way across.�Cut along the mouth line.
Flip the face over.
Close the mouth.
Extend levers and place on back -
one lever on top, one on bottom.
Use the stickers! ��Attach each piece separately.
Be sure the mouth can open.
