How Cheese Can Affect the Immune System
Cheese & Dairy Effects (especially during fasting or healing
seasons):
• Contains casein proteins that can trigger inflammation in
sensitive individuals
• Can increase mucus production, stressing respiratory and immune response
• Often raises insulin despite low sugar content, slowing fat burning
• Saturated fats may activate inflammatory immune pathways
• Opioid-like peptides (casomorphins) can increase cravings and overeating
Result:
• Increased inflammation
• Immune distraction and fatigue
• Slower healing and recovery
Why many fasts remove cheese:
• To reduce inflammation
• To calm insulin signaling
• To allow immune focus and restoration
“It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that causes
your brother to stumble.” — Romans 14:21 (ESV)
(Principle: temporary restriction for greater good)
