What if I miss class?

If you miss class, you are still responsible for that day’s work. This means checking Google Classroom for any posted assignments or readings, emailing Ms. Peters, and potentially checking in with your classmates for any class notes that you missed while absent.

Can I have my phone or airpods during class?

Per SMS policy, your phone and headphones must be off and in your backpack during class AND during passing periods.

How is my class grade determined?

Your grade will be broken up into 4 categories. SOAR Work Habits = 20% of grade, Tests/Projects/Essays = 40% of grade, Quizzes/Short Writing Responses = 20% of grade, Classwork & Homework = 20% of grade

Positive & Negative Consequences

Meeting classroom expectations and behaving appropriately in class helps to create a learning environment where you and your classmates feel welcome, safe, and respected.

If you choose to meet the classroom expectations, you will receive a positive consequence, such as praise from teacher, praise to administration, positive email/phone call home, “Eagle Awards” and other incentives.

If you choose not to meet the classroom expectations, you will receive a negative consequence, such as a verbal warning, a change of seat, a student/teacher conference, a phone call home, a detention, a parent/guardian meeting, and for severe infractions of school rules a referral to the office.
