Mobile Application for Delivery of Postal Articles

  • Introduction
  • This is a mobile app that can be used by Postman/delivery staff for delivering various postal articles including cash on delivery.

​

  • The app is on android platform. After the delivery of article, the App will capture the exact date and time of delivery of article and later sync the details with the central server .

2. What Type of articles can be handled?

The application will handle the delivery of following articles:

a. Registered Letter

b. Registered Parcel

c. eMO

d. Speed Post

e. COD articles

f. Delivery of articles to bulk customer.

3. Advantages of the App.

    • The electronic delivery by Postman including obtaining acknowledgement enhances the customer experience.

​

    • Exact date and time including location is captured automatically the moment article is delivered hence eliminates the inaccurate capturing of the same during manual delivery.

    • This also helps the DoP to analyse delivery performance in a more realistic manner and improve transit time KPI.

    • Customer can track delivery of article the moment it has been delivered.

​

    • Delivery PA can update returns electronically, which reduces keying in manually the returns and eliminates all inaccuracies associated with it.

The Delivery PA receives all the articles in his office for delivery in the

Postman /Speednet module and allocate articles to the beat.

Now the data is ready for porting to the app.

Registering the mobile device.(One time)

​

  • The supervisor after login in the Bridge application Register the Devices, by connecting the device through USB OTG cable with the PC by providing input details and click save.

​

  • The mobile phone is now configured to transfer data from PC to mobile and vice versa.

Updating returns in Postman Android app by Postman

    • The postman can log in to the mobile app .
    • After log in the postman will be provided the options to effect delivery of the following mail categories.
    • Speed post , Electronic Money Order Parcel COD ,Parcel Post,Bulk Delivery,Registered Post
    • The following options are utility options to analyse delivery performance and tally account in case

eMO, COD articles etc. before submitting returns.

The postman can select relevant options to deliver the mail items. For example to deliver the eMO he can click electronic money order icon.

You can transfer the updated returns to central server by selecting communication in side bar menu. You need to click on "start communication“ to transfer data to central server of CEPT and " stop communication" , in case you want the stop the communication. For this GPRS connection/mobile data needs to be enabled. You can get the communicated information on developer's log.

Process Flow

Obtaining returns electronically by Delivery PA:

​

  • This option will be used when Postman updates returns for the invoiced data in android application.

​

  • Select Home--> "Get Returns Data" in bridge application.

​

  • Please click Connect button to connect mobile phone with PC.

​

  • Now click GetData to transfer returns information to speed and meghdoot applications.

Major facility is below-

�1. It's compulsory for postman to carry Mobile in field / door step of the customer.

​

2. All type articles will be delivered by the Postman through postman Application.

​

3. Customer signature and thumb impression will take on mobile devices using Postman Application.

​

.4. After delivery of articles data uploaded on website at the same time/ immediately.

​

5. In morning article data collect through data cable from computer and same give return in evening

​

6. Mobile should be handed over to Treasurer in Treasury in evening

​

7. Games, other unauthorized applications and data's are prohibited.

​

8. At initial Stage Postman delivered article in both delivery slip and Mobile application, they will move only with application in later date if they specialist in Postman Mobile Application
