What Does Title Reading Look like for My Child?

What Does Title Reading Look like for My Child?

​

  • Children who are not making progress in Tier I will receive an additional 30-minutes of reading instruction 5 days per week.
  • Goal is to close the achievement gap as quickly as possible. The formula for success is:
    • 8 or less students per class
    • Lasts 6-9 weeks providing 150 extra minutes of additional instruction per week.
    • Teacher modeling, corrective feedback, self-monitoring, practice to mastery, and efficient time-on-task in every session

What Does Title Reading Look like for My Child?

​

  • Tier III is for children who are not making progress in Tier I and Tier II instruction.
  • Tier III is the most intensive level of intervention and is characterized by the following:
    • 10-30 minutes of instruction in addition to the homeroom instruction and the Tier II instruction
    • I-3 students
    • Lessons are individualized for each student’s learning needs
    • Lessons reinforce old skills while modeling and teaching new skills
