Uploading images

Images

You can upload an unlimited number of images to Thinglink. Images can be uploaded via the Create tab. You can also use the Facebook , Flickr or the Web import.

We support JPEG, PNG and GIF images. The maximum image size is 25MB. You can upload images without any resolution limit (there is still the 25 MB cap on image size though)! Please note that the images are scaled down to 1024px when viewed (or less, if the image original size or embed size is less). If your image has lots of text, we recommend you use PNG instead of JPEG.:definition text

Adding images from the Web

if you can view it in your browser, you can probably tag it. All you need to do is to find a URL of an image. In most cases, you can just right-click on an image, and choose "Copy image URL" or similar, and paste the URL at Add from Web on Thinglink.

Thinglink will not make a copy of the image, just store a reference to the URL. This means that if the original image is removed or renamed, we may start showing an error instead of the image. If reliability is important, we recommend uploading the image instead of using web import.

However, if you already have the images on your own web site, using Web import is certainly easier and faster.

Web import also supports SVG images in addition to our regular image types.

Importing images from Facebook

You can connect with Facebook and import your personal images for rich tagging. After the import you will see your Facebook image sets on Thinglink. You may choose one or multiple images for the import. The imported images do not count against your upload limit, and continue to be hosted on Facebook.

Importing images from Flickr

You can import the latest public images from any Flickr user. Just type in a Flickr username, and we'll show you a list of the 20 most recent images. You may choose one or multiple images to be imported to Thinglink. The imported images do not count against your upload limit, and continue to be hosted on Flickr.

As a Teacher, how can I invite my students if they don't have an Email?

Click on "Students" on the top of your screen; choose a group and "Register Students". You can use this tool to mass-register students that do not yet have a ThingLink account. The email of the created user will be set to your own email, so any attempts to e.g. recover password or any account notifications will be sent to you.

You can also automatically follow all the created students.

If you need to invite students who already have a Thinglink account, you can also do it from the Students screen by clicking on "Manage Group".
