  • this time, your purpose is what’s important
    • your purpose is to persuade the reader that your claim is correct
  • make your claim as clear as possible
    • if it is clear, make it more convincing
  • find data that supports it, and explain how the data supports it
    • even better, find data from different sources that agree and together support your claim more strongly
    • even better, find data from different sources that disagree, and convince the reader that the data  supporting your claim is stronger than the data that refutes it
  • 3-5 sources is the sweet spot
  • keep repeating your claim/position

  • go back to your weakest supporting paragraph and revise it

    • better connections between sources
