What Is the Value of This to Me??
فقال عيسو ليعقوب: "اطعمني من هذا الأحمر لأني قد أعييت." لذلك دعي اسمه "أدوم." فقال يعقوب: "بعني اليوم بكوريتك." فقال عيسو: "ها أنا ماض إلى الموت، فلماذا لي بكورية؟" فقال يعقوب: "احلف لي اليوم." فحلف له فباع بكوريته ليعقوب. فأعطى يعقوب عيسو خبزا وطبيخ عدس، فأكل وشرب وقام ومضى. فاحتقر عيسو البكورية.
( تك 25 : 30 – 34 )
And Esau said to Jacob, "Please feed me with that same red stew, for I am weary." Therefore his name was called Edom. But Jacob said, "Sell me your birthright as of this day.” And Esau said, "Look, I am about to die; so what is this birthright to me?"
Then Jacob said, "Swear to me as of this day." So he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob. And Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; then he ate and drank, arose, and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright. ( Gen 25 : 30 – 34 )
لماذا لم يعتبر عيسو للبكورية ؟؟
Why Did Esau Despise His Birthright?
ربما لم يحكي إسحق عنها
Maybe Isaac did not explain its value to him
ربما إهتم باللحظة على حساب المستقبل
Maybe he was consumed by his immediate need at the expense of the future
ربما غُلب من شهوة بطنه
Maybe he was conquered by gluttony
ربما فكرة الموت كانت أقرب من البركة والحياة
Maybe the thought of death was closer to him than the blessing and life
ربما تفنن يعقوب في خداعه و إستغل لحظة ضعفه
Maybe Jacob skillfully deceived him and took advantage of his weakness
لماذا لم يعتبر عيسو للبكورية ؟؟
Why Did Esau Despise His Birthright?
لكن الحقيقة ... أنه باع البكورية
But the Truth is He Sold His Birthright
هناك مَن يبيع المعمودية
There are those who forsake their baptism
هناك مَن يطفئ / يحزن الروح
There are those who quench the Spirit
هناك مَن يختار الجسد و شهواته
There are those who choose the flesh and its lusts
هناك مَن يتبع إيمان رخيص بسبب أصدقاء / قراءات / احباطات
There are those who settle for a shallow faith because of friendships, misleading readings, or disappointments
هناك مَن يبيع العفة بسبب الجوع
There are those who forsake their purity because of hunger
هناك مَن لم يعرف قدر النعمة ( البكورية )
There are those who did not know the value of grace (the birthright)
لكن الحقيقة ... أنه باع البكورية
But the Truth is He Sold His Birthright

The Value of the Birthright
البكورية والنصيب الصالح (البركة)
The birthright and the good part (the blessing)
البكورية تعني الرئاسة والاستمرار (الاسم)
The birthright means leadership and continuation (the family name)
قدس لي كل بكر كل فاتح رحم من بني إسرائيل من الناس و من البهائم إنه لي
(خر 13 : 2)
Consecrate to Me all the firstborn, whatever opens the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and beast; it is Mine
(Exo 13 : 2)
البكورية تعني الاختيار
The birthright signifies being chosen

وكنيسة أبكار مكتوبين في السماوات وإلى الله ديان الجميع وإلى أرواح أبرار مكملين
(عب 12 : 23)
To the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, (Heb 12 : 23)
البكورية الروحية الآن ليست مرتبطة بالجسديات
The spiritual birthright now is not connected to physical things

كان حريصاً على البركة بدون صلاة أو محبة ففقدها
Esau pursued the blessing without prayer or love, so he lost it
استمر عيسو عدوانياً ... ارتبط بالوثنية
Esau remained hostile, and became associated with idolatry
لئلا يكون أحد زانيا أو مستبيحا كعيسو، الذي لأجل أكلة واحدة باع بكوريته
(عب 12 : 16)
Lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright (Heb 12 : 16)

Compromises Go On
سرقة البركة
Stealing the Blessing
لا تكن كيعقوب سارقاً .. ظالماً .. لكن كن حريصاً على البركة
Do not be like Jacob, a thief and unjust, but pursue the blessing
مفتدين الوقت لأن الأيام شريرة (اف 5 : 16)
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil (Eph 5 : 16)
فإذا حسبما لنا فرصة فلنعمل الخير للجميع و لا سيما لأهل الإيمان (غل 6 : 10)
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith (Gal 6 : 10)
و من أيام يوحنا المعمدان إلى الآن ملكوت السماوات يغصب و الغاصبون يختطفونه
(مت 11 : 12)
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force

مياه كثيرة لا تستطيع أن تطفئ المحبة و السيول لا تغمرها. إن أعطى الإنسان كل ثروة بيته بدل المحبة تحتقر احتقارا (نش 8 : 7)
Many waters cannot quench love, Nor can the floods drown it. If a man would give for love All the wealth of his house, It would be utterly despised. (Song of Songs 8 : 7)
