Sharing is Caring

Jeffrey’s mother let him go to the store. He bought a package of bubble gum with 24 pieces of Gum
After the store, he went to play (you choose basketball, football, or soccer) with his friends.
Jeffrey was the 10th person to show up to play basketball. They played a game of 5 on 5. After the game, Jeffrey decided to share his gum. If Jeffrey and all the players had 1 piece of gum, what fraction would represent how much gum was taken out of the package.
Sorry but 8/12 is not correct. This is telling the ratio if there had only been 12 pieces of gum. Jeffrey had a package of 24.
Sorry, but 5/24 would mean that only 5 pieces of gum were given to his friends. We know there was a total of 10 pieces of gum that was given out. Click Here to try again.
Sorry but 10/10 is not correct. This would mean that Jeffrey gave away all of his gum. Remember, he started with 24 pieces of gum. Click here to try again.
Jeffrey was the 16th person to show up to play Football. They played a game of 8 vs 8. After the game, Jeffrey decided to share his gum. If Jeffrey and all the players had 1 piece of gum, what fraction would represent how much gum was taken out of the package.
Sorry, 16/16 is not correct. This would mean that Jeffrey would have given all of his gum away. This fraction says that Jeffrey only had 16 pieces of gum. The package had 24 pieces of gum. Click Here to try again.
