SCCT Info for Parents

With our field trip coming up this Wednesday, we wanted to go over a few last minute details. Have your child dress up like they would for a special event or nice occasion, we want to be presentable for the theatre.

Our plan for is to eat an early lunch at 10am in the classroom (30 minutes earlier than normal), taking restroom breaks during. If you're able to send in a lunchbox that day, it'd help us out, but it is not required. Students will still be able to go through the lunch line and bring a bagged lunch back to the classroom.

Then we'll load the 2 buses around 10:30. Travel time should be 35-40 minutes depending on the route our bus drivers take. SCCT is wanting us to arrive 11:15-11:30am to give enough time for parking, last minute bathroom breaks, and seating. The performance will begin at 11:45am. It should last 40-45 minutes without intermission. We should arrive back to school around 1-1:15pm. At that time we plan to eat an afternoon snack since our lunch will be so early. Feel free to pack your child a larger snack/ multiple snacks for Wednesday, taking our change in meal time into consideration. We'll let students play outside if the weather is nice as well that afternoon/ if we have time.

Here are a few things you can discuss as well with students regarding theater etiquette. We'll be discussing this as well with the class Wednesday morning.

-Treat all staff and volunteers with respect.

-No food or beverages (other than water) are permitted in the theatre.

-No use of cell phones or any electronics in the theatre.

-Keep your hands to yourself. Do not touch other patrons, actors, or props.

-Do not kick the chair, wall, or stage in front of you.

-Do not talk to your neighbors during the production.

-Keep reactions and comments short, respectful, and appropriate.

-If sat in the front row balcony there MUST be an adult sitting in that row.
