Title I Annual Parent Meeting

Targeted Assistance Program

Purpose of the Meeting

• Meet federal requirement under ESSA Section 1116.
• Inform parents about Title I participation and requirements.
• Explain parent rights and opportunities for involvement.

What is Title I?

• Federal program providing additional academic support to close achievement gap and support equity.
• Bridges Preparatory School has been identified as a Targeted Assistance school for the 25-26 school year.

Targeted Assistance

• Serves only identified students who are at risk (based on specific criteria)

• Services must be supplemental (not replacing core instruction), less flexibility to use funds (only for identified at risk students)

​

• Must have 35% or more low-income enrollment.

​

• May look like: pull-out or push-in services for qualifying students; professional development for only staff serving qualifying students; before/after school, summer school programs for qualifying students; tutoring, small group instruction, specialized instructional materials.

How Students Are Selected for Title 1 Support? (MTSS)

What is MTSS?

• A preventative framework designed so ALL students receive appropriate instruction to meet their needs
• Utilizes a systematic problem-solving model to analyze multiple pieces of data to determine how all students are responding to instruction
• Provides the type of help and the amount of help students need
• Uses academic performance data, screening scores, and teacher input

What if my child’s Star score is below the 24%?

• Students will begin to receive additional support and intervention from the classroom teacher during WIN time.
• Students progress will be monitored weekly by curriculum based measurement probes within Star.

How will progress be communicated with parents?

• Parents will receive a letter attached to their student’s Star report

indicating additional support and progress monitoring will be

provided for the next 6 weeks.

• After 6 weeks of intervention, the teacher will reach back out the

parent and provide an update and discuss if further support is

needed.

Parents’ Rights Under Title I

• Know teacher qualifications.
• Participate in Title I planning and evaluation.
• Request information about paraprofessional qualifications.
• Receive updates on student progress.

Title 1 Budget Overview & Goals

Goals

• Increase Math scores on SC Ready
• Increase Climate Survey results
• Increase intervention time within master schedule

Total Allocation: $161,141

Proposed Spending:

• $158,000 – Salaries: Math Interventionist, Math Coach, Special Education Teacher (Title I- funded portion)
• $3,141 – Instructional supplies and materials

Parent & Family Engagement Policy

• Host Annual Title I Parent Meeting.
• Communicate regularly in family-friendly language.
• Offer engagement opportunities: PTO Meetings, Book Fair Nights, Open House, Workshops, etc.
• Seek parent feedback annually
