Yehohanan was about 24 to 28 years old at the time of his death. This tomb (excavated 1968) is the only example of a crucified victim having been recovered from a tomb as most victims were buried in open pits.

• We can read about the sufferings of the Lord Jesus in the Gospels. But we have a fuller picture if we read some of the prophecies of the Old Testament as well.

• Turn to Psalm 22. This Psalm helps us to understand how Jesus felt during the crucifixion,

​

• "But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people. All they that see Me laugh Me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, `He trusted on the Lord that He would deliver Him: let Him deliver Him, seeing He delighted in Him´" (verses 6-8).

دەتوانین لە بارەی كەسەریەكانی عیسای لە ئینحیلەكان بخوینینەوە. بەلام ئەگەر هەندیك لە پیشبینیەكانی پەیمانی كۆن بخوینینەوە, وینەیەكی تەواوترمان لەو بارەیەوە دەست دەكەوی.

وە بەلام من كرمم و مرۆظ نیی, جیی شەرمی مرۆظەكانم وە بچووك سەیركراوە قەومەكەم, هەركەسیك بمبینیت گاڵتەم پی دەكا. لیوەكانیان دەكەنەوەو سەریان رادەوەشینن و دەڵین: پشت بە خوداوەند ببەستە كەواتە ئەو كۆتایی پی بینە. ئەو دەرباز دەكا چونكە مەیلی بە لای ئەوە.

A prophecy of the suffering of the Lord Jesus Christ

زەبوورەکان 22 : 15-16

• Not only the pain, but also the shame of being crucified weighed heavily upon Him. Read this Psalm very carefully. Perhaps more than any other words in the Bible, these words help us to appreciate what Jesus went through for us. Look again at verses 15-16,

• "My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and My tongue cleaves to My jaws; and Thou hast brought Me into the dust of death. "For dogs have encircled Me: the assembly of the wicked have surrounded Me: they pierced My hands and My feet.“ (Psalm 22:15-16)

نەتەنیا دەردەسەر, بەڵكو شەرمی لە خاچدان لە سەرشانی قورسایی دانابوو. دەشی ئەم رستانە, زیاتر لە هەر بەشیكی تری پەرتووكی پیرۆز, دەتوانی یارمەتیدەرمان بی بۆ سووپاسگگوزاری لەو كارانەی كە عیسای مەسیح بۆ ئیمەی كردووە. بە ووردی مەزامیر بخویننەوە. دووبارە سەیری ئایەتەكانی 15-16 بكەن, " هیزی من وەكوو سوالەت ووشك بووە زمانم بە مەلاشومەوە نووساوە وە منت لە ناو خاكی مردن ناوە چونكە سەگەكان دەوریان داووم. كۆمەلەی ئینجیلی منیان گەمارۆ داوەو دەست و قاچیان كون كردووم."

Psalm 22:18 ‘They divide my clothes among them and cast lots for my garment.’

بۆچی دەبوو عیسا ئەوەندە ڕەنج بكیشی؟

• As we think of Jesus hanging on that cross, and remember that He never sinned, but always did those things that pleased God, we ask ourselves, "Why did this have to happen to Jesus?"

​

• One thing is certain: it was the only way by which men could be saved from sin. Jesus had prayed three times to His Father, "If it be possible, let this cup pass from Me." (Though He was careful to add, "Nevertheless not My will, but Thine be done".) If it had been possible, we can be sure that God would have spared His son the agony. But it was the only way.

​

كاتی بیر لە لە خاچدانی عیسا لە سەر ئەو خاچە دەكەینەوە وە بیرمان دیتەوە كە ئەو هیچ كات تاوانی نەكرد, بەڵكو بەردەوام ئەو كارانەی دەكرد كە دەبوونە هۆی ڕەزامەندی خودا لە خۆمان دەپرسین: "بۆچی دەبی ئەم رووداوانە بۆ عیسا روو بدا؟"

شتیك روونە: ئەمە تەنیا ریگایەك بوو كە كە دەكرا مرۆظ بتوانی لە تاوان رزگاری ببی. عیسا سی جار لای باوكی خۆی دووعای كرد, " ئەی باوك, ئەگەر ویستی تۆیە, ئەم پیاڵە لە من دوورخەرەوە" (لە گەڵ ئەوەشدا ئەو سەرەنجی دا كە ئەوەش زیاد بكا: " بەڵام نەك بە تكای من بەڵكو بە ئیرادەی تۆ".) ئەگەر وەها شتیك مومكین بووایە, دەمانتوانی دڵنیا بین كە خودا لە ڕەنج كیشانی كورەكەی چاوپۆشی دەكا. بەڵام ئەوە تاكە ڕیگا بوو.

Why did Jesus have to suffer so much?

سرووشتیكی نویی

• Yet the character of Jesus had been faultless. He had never sinned in thought or deed.

​

• Because of this, God was able to raise Him to life without breaking the law that said that the wages of sin was death.

​

• And so God gave Jesus a new nature - a nature that could never be tempted to sin, and that would never die.

هیشتا كەسایەتی عیسا بی خەوش و عەیبە. ئەو هیچ كات نە بە هزر نە بە كردار تاوانی نەكرد. بەم هۆیە, خودا توانی بە بی شكانی شەم یاسایە كە پاداشتی تاوان مەرگە, ئەوی لە مردن هەڵساندەوە. كەواتە خودا سرووشتیكی نویی بە عیسا بەخشی, سرووشتیك كە هەرگیز بۆ تاوان دووچاری وەسوەسە نابی و هەرگیز نامری.

A new nature

پەرتووکەکانی خاچ

• Through the death of Jesus on the cross, God showed us how evil we really are by nature. And we must know this before we can even begin to live a life that is pleasing to God.

​

• But there are other impressive lessons.

​

• We do well to ponder the fact that the Lord Jesus was an acceptable sacrifice. He was like a lamb without blemish; and God was willing to accept this perfect sacrifice as the offering of all those who believe in Jesus as "The Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world" (John, chapter 1, verse 29).

بە مرگی عیسا لە سەر خاچ, خودا بە ئیمەی نیشاندا كە سرووشتی ئیمە چەندە شەریرانەیە وە ئیمە دەبی ئەوە بزانین, بەر لەوەی كە زیانی جیی رەزامەندی خودا دەست پی بكەین. بەلام وانەی كاریگەری تریش هەن. ئیمە بە باشی زانیمان كە لە راستیدا, خوداوەند عیسا قوربانیەكی قبوڵكراو بوو. ئەو وەكوو بەرخیكی بی خەوش بوو وە خودا ویستی وابوو كە ئەم قووربانیە كامڵ و بی خەوشە وەكوو پیشكیشیك لە لایەن تەواوی ئەو كەسانەی كە لە زیر ناونیشانی "ئەو بەرخەی خودا كە تاوانی جیهان لا دەبا" باوەریان بە عیسا هەیە, لییان قبوڵ بكا.

The lessons of the cross

خودا کوڕی خۆی دا

• Another important lesson is this: the cross of Christ shows the extent to which God´s love for us can go. Paul puts it like this: "He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" (Romans, chapter 8, verse 32).

​

• The cross is our way of life, as Paul says in I Corinthians, chapter 1, verse 18, "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God."

وانەیەكی گرنگیتر ئەوەیە: خاچی عیسا نیشاندەری ئەوەیە كە خۆشەویستی خودا بۆ ئیمە تا چ قەبارەیەك فراوانە. پۆلس بەم شیوەیە شرۆظەی دەكا: " ئەو كە لاری لە كوری خۆی نەبوو, بەڵكو ئەوی لە پیناو هەموومان رادەست كرد, چۆن دەشی لە گەلچ ئەو هەموو شت بە ئیمە نەبەخشی؟"

• (ڕۆما، بەشی 8، ئایەتی 32).

خاچ, ریگای زیانی ئیمەیە, هەر بەوجۆرە كە پۆلس لە سەرەتای قرنتیان بابی 1 ئایەتی 18 دەڵی: " پەیامی خاچ بۆ ئەوانەی لە سەر ریگای لە ناوچوونن, پووچ و بی واتایە بەلام بۆ ئیمە كە لە سەر ریگای رزگاربوونین, هیزی خودایە".

God gave his son

ژیانی نوی

• We are the children of Adam and, like Adam, we prefer our own ways to the ways of God. But Jesus, when He gave Himself as a sacrifice for sin, made it possible for us to become the children of God.

​

• Jesus said, "Íf any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me´" (Luke, chapter 9, verse 23).

​

ئیمە نەوەكانی ئادەمین وە وەكوو ئەو ریگای خۆمان بەسەر ریگای خودا فەرز دەكەین. بەلام عیسا, كاتیك خۆی لە پیناو تاوانەكان كرد بە قووربانی, بوون بە مندالانی خودای بۆ ئیمە كرد بە شتیكی موومكین.

عیسا گووتی: " ئەگەر كەسیك بیەوی شوینكەوتەی من بی, دەبی دەست لە گیانی خۆی بشواو هەموو رۆزیك خاچەكەی هەڵگری وە لە گەڵم بیت."

A new life

ئیمە دەبی لە گەل عیسا لە خاچ بدریین

• We have to crucify our sinful self. Instead of walking in our own sinful ways, we must die to sin, and walk with Christ in newness of life, always preferring God´s way to our own.

​

• The apostle Paul tells us, "They that are Christ´s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. "If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit" (Galatians, chapter 5, verses 24-25). .

ئیمە دەبی كەسایەتی پیس بوو بە تاوانی خۆمان لە خاچ بدەین. دەبی لە جیاتی ئەوەی ریگا بە تاوان پیسبووەكانی خۆمان دریزە پی بدەین, دەبی لە تاوان بمرین و لە زیانیكی نوی هەنگاو بنیین,. وە هەموو كات ریگای خودا بە سەر ریگای خۆماندا هەڵبزیرین.

پۆلسی نیردراو پیمان دەلی: " وە ئەوانەی كە موڵكی عیسای مەسیحن, سرووشتی نەفسیان بە حەزەكان ولە خاچ داوە. ئەگەر روحی خودا, سەرچاوەی زیانی ئیمەیە, ئەویش دەبی رینمای زیانی ئیمە بی. خۆپەسەند نەبین و یەكتر عجز نەكەین وە حەسوودی بە یەكتر نەبەین.

• (گەلاتیا، بەشی 5، ئایەتی 24-25).

We must be crucified with Jesus

پوختە

• 1. Wicked men put Jesus to death by a slow torture called "crucifixion". He was nailed to a cross and left to die.
• 2. God allowed this to happen, because it was the only way to save us from our sins.
• 3. It was the only way to make us realise how utterly wicked and deserving of death we are.
• 4. The Bible tells us to be "crucified with Jesus". This means that our own sinful tendencies must be destroyed.
• 5. The crucifixion of Jesus also teaches us that, like Jesus, we must try to obey God always, however much it hurts.

1. بەدکارەکانی عیسا ،ئەویان ئەشکنجە کرد که "لە خاچ دان" ناو دەبێین.

2. خودا رێگای بە ئەو رۆوداوەی دا، چونکە ئەو تەنها رێگای رزگاری ئیمە لە گوناهە.

3. تەنها رێگایەک بۆ که ئیمە چەن لاواز و شایانی مردنین، ئاگادار دەکات.

4. پەرتووک پیرۆز به ئیمە دەلێت "لەگەڵ مسیح لە خاچ بەدرێین". به معنای ئەوەی کە هەموو گوناهەکانی ئیمە دەسڕیتەوە.

5. لە خاچ دانی عیسا بەر لەوەی فێرمان دەکات ئیمە وەکوو عیسا لە فرمانی خودا گوێ رایەڵی بەکەین، ئەو رێگایە ئاگر ئازار بەبینین.
