NON-TEST INSTRUCTIONS FOR ONLINE TESTING

  • Student handout with directions. Students keep this paper. Use back to write usernames, passwords and ACT ID.
  • The student code is unique to each student.
  • The ACT High School Code for Cyprus High School is 450-175.

Create Account

  • Type the ACT student website my.act.org into your address bar.
  • If you have never registered to take the ACT, then click on “CREATE MY ACT ACCOUNT
  • If you already have an ACT account enter your User ID and password, then select “sign in”. WAIT UNTIL SLIDE 11 to continue.
    • Students should not create multiple accounts. If student has an account but forgot password, they need to click “forgot password” on the sign in screen.
  • This is the website students will use to see their ACT test results and to register for future ACT tests.

Create Account

  • Select “I’m new! Let’s get started” if you have never made an ACT account before (most students)
  • If you have previously registered, you can select “I registered or tested before.”
  • Click “CONTINUE”

  1. Enter your legal name EXACTLY as printed on your Non-test Instructions form.
  2. Add your date of birth, email address, and home address *check transcript for home address if needed*.
    1. If you have a personal email outside of the school, use this so you will have access to ACT after you leave high school.
    2. Phone number is optional. If you include it, be sure to choose country code US +1. NO DASHES
  3. After reading the agreement, click the small check box.
  4. Double check everything is entered correctly.
  5. Click verify by email or text. Double check the email/number that pops up and select “Yes- send it there!” (Must have entered mobile number in order to get verification by text)

Beware of Autofill and typos. If name or birthday is incorrect it can’t be changed unless you call ACT.

Verify Your Email

  • On a NEW tab (don’t go out of the my.act.org page), go to your email account, log in, and open the verification email from ACT. There will be a verification code inside. Go back to the my.act.org page and enter in the code. You will need to verify your email from your phone if you are using a personal email account.

Login to MyACT

  • You will see this screen after your account has been verified with a green bubble that says “Success!”

  • Sign in with the email and password you just created.

  • Find Cyprus High School
  • Juniors will graduate in 2025
  • Click Next

*Write down your ACT ID, account email and password* on your password information sheet.

Students need this to check scores online, to register, or if you lose your username/password.

If you forget your username and password for ACT, you must have this ID to reset your account.

The school does not keep this ACT ID for you.

Your College Choices

  • You may send up to 4 score reports to colleges or NCAA for free.
  • If you do not send these now, you will have to pay to have them sent to each college later.
  • If you are taking Concurrent Enrollment through SLCC, Weber or SUU, it is recommended you send scores to these colleges.
  • If you plan on becoming NCAA eligible it is recommended you send scores.
  • Search by code, if you have it, or Browse to look for colleges.

  • SLCC code is 4290
  • NCAA code is 9999
  • Click Save & Continue when all colleges are entered.

Parent Notifications

  • Optional: Add parent first and last name if you would like them to receive notifications (emails) about ACT and college/financial aid information.

Accept Terms and Conditions

  • Read terms and conditions.
  • Scroll to bottom before you can check the box stating “I understand”
  • Click Save & Continue

Confirmation

  • Your screen will tell you that you are missing sections, but as long as you completed the college choices, you are set!
  • You will have until 2 days after your test to select colleges but do it TODAY!
  • “Good Job” means you created account
  • “Thank You” means you also selected score recipients

Updating Your Chromebook

CHROMEBOOK UPDATE

  • Make sure your Chromebooks are updated to the latest version. Latest Version is 120 (Alt + V, when not logged in, will show latest version of operating system)
    • Click on battery symbol in right bottom corner.
    • Click on gear symbol on top in black box.
    • Click on three bars in left hand corner.
    • Go to “About Chrome OS” click on check for updates.
    • Once the update is installed, click the Restart button that will appear to complete the update process.
  • Make sure that TestNav App is loaded onto your Chromebooks. You can check this by clicking Apps on the bottom left of the screen when you are SIGNED OUT of the Chromebook.
    • Select TestNav then select “The ACT”
  • Next, run an “App Check” by selecting the profile icon in top right and select “App Check”

Any errors? Have errors resolved in the Media Center before test day

ACT TESTING �March 26, 2024

Please leave all electronic and smart devices at home. Otherwise, they will be collected before testing begins.

This is your one FREE chance to take the ACT.

Be in your classroom on ACT testing day by 7:30 AM.

You will not be admitted into the classroom once testing begins.

Plan to be on time.

Get rest and eat breakfast! No food or water is allowed during testing.
