QUADRATIC EQUATIONS

2 of 2

Sol.

Let the three required consecutive odd natural numbers be x , x + 2 and x + 4.

As per the given condition,

×

+

=

x

(x + 4)

1

(x + 2)

After leaving some space +

4 ×

After the sign put 1

∴ x2

∴ x2

Taking square root on both

the sides we get,

x = ± 3

The required numbers are

natural numbers.

  • x + 2

The three consecutive odd natural

numbers are 3, 5 and 7 respectively.

x ≠ -3

Hence, x = 3

Means multiplication
