When did this change?

Admittedly, I still am holding out hope for a contract at Real Madrid one day, but I think a transition in my mind happened during my freshman year of highschool.

When did this change?

After a home game at around 10 PM, I went to the bike rack to ride my bike home, which at that point was my only way of getting to and from school.

After a bit of frantic searching, I painfully realized that someone stole my bike.

When did this change?

It was this vulnerable moment that lead me to one of the best mentors I have had the fortune of working with and my home for the next few years, the journalism room.

I won the titles, why am I not doing that today?

I found a great amount of success in the world of journalism, but it also wore on me heavily. Issue after issue I had to dedicate so much of my time that it made me resent something I loved dearly. I couldn’t see myself doing this for the rest of my life.

How will you measure your life?

I know if I was going to be happy, I needed three things:

  1. Financial security
  2. A career that continuously challenges and motivates me
  3. Time to be with my family

Above: The cover of the book that would make me rethink everything.

I put those three together and I got…

Working in Sports Management. I can chase the energy I once got on the sports field in the forum of top-flight business. I can be a courageous leader directing an organization. Most importantly, I could find the financial backing and time I need for my life’s plans.
