Fair Competition

  • 區域賽主席可因作弊意圖作弊、以及妨礙競賽(如過於吵鬧令他人分心、破壞硬體設備、拔線、入侵競賽系統妨礙正常運作等等)剝奪隊伍參賽權力。
  • The regional contest director may disqualify a team for any cheating, attempting to cheat or jeopardizing the contest (including distracting behavior, damaging the hardware, unplugging the wires, cracking the contest system, etc).
  • 區域賽主席可因選手缺席任一大會指定活動而剝奪隊伍參賽權力。
  • The regional contest director may disqualify a team for the absence of a contestant in that team in any designated contest activity.

Contest Site Rules (1/5)

  • 參賽者必須穿著官方 T-shirt 與戴上名牌參與拍照活動、練習與測試、比賽日(11月16日)的所有活動。
  • Contestants must wear the official T-shirts and the badges during photo session, practice session, and all events on the contest day, November 16.
  • 每隊必須以三名參賽者進入賽場,不可多也不可少。
  • Each team may only enter the contest site to compete with exactly three contestants.

Contest Site Rules (2/5)

  • 在比賽開始前,除非有指示,否則禁止碰觸任何物品
  • Before the contest, DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING unless further instructions are given.
  • 在指示「登入DOMjudge系統」時,禁止設定開發環境或是輸入其他資料,違者取消參賽資格。
  • When announced “login to DOMjudge,” Do not configure your development environment or key in anything else, otherwise you will be disqualified.

  • 如有任何問題,請舉手尋求工作人員協助。
  • If you have any trouble, please raise your hands and ask the staff for help.
  • 直到主辦單位宣布比賽開始前,不得打開裝有題本的信封。
  • You may not open the envelope containing the problem set before it is announced that the contest begins.
  • 官方語言是英文。對題意有疑問時,請以英文發問。
  • The official language is English. Teams should ask for clarifications of problem statements in English.

  • You may print your codes during the contest without exceeding a reasonable amount.

  • 請勿攜帶食物或飲料回到工作區。
  • Do not bring foods and drinks to your working area.
  • 除了在工作區與隊友交談外,請勿與參賽者或教練交談。
  • Do not talk to any contestant or coach during the contest. The only exception is talking to your teammate in your working area.
  • 前往點心區或使用洗手間不需請示工作人員。
  • There is no need to ask for permission to go to the refreshment zone or use restroom.

Judge System Information (3/5)

  • Judge results
    • Correct: The judge accepts your code
    • Compiler-Error: Your code cannot be successfully compiled.
    • TimeLimit: Your program consumes too much time.
    • Run-Error: Your program terminates with an non-zero return code, which often means your program is terminated by the operating system.
    • Wrong-Answer: The judge rejects the output of your program.
    • No-Output: Your program does not generate any output.
  •  20 penalty minutes for every rejected run (excluding Compiler-Error)

  • Judgehost Environment
    • AWS t2.small instance
  • Judge queue
    • It is a priority queue (NOT first-in-first-out).
    • Priority of a submission from team A is determined by the last judged submission from team A. The latest team has the lowest priority.

Judge System Information (5/5)

  • DOMserver uses lazy evaluation and parallel judging
  • Lazy evaluation
    • Correct result: judgehost proceeds to the next test data if any
    • Incorrect result: judgehost stops and returns the corresponding verdict to DOMserver.
  • Parallel judging
    • If you submit a code multiple times, you may get different verdicts.
  • The judgehost returns Correct to DOMserver if all test cases have been judged and accepted.

Contest Preparation (1/3)

  • A team may bring the following items to the contest site.
  • One printed natural language dictionary (Electronic one is not allowed)
  • At most 3 identical copies of team notes. Stationery including pen, pencil, eraser, ruler, etc.
  • Non-electronic and non-edible team mascots and lucky items that will not disturb other teams or staff.

Contest Preparation (2/3)

  • A team note is limited to:
    • Up to 25 pages (paper size: A4 or letter)
    • Printed or written on single side
    • Page number clearly labeled in the top right corner
    • Readable by a person with correctable eyesight without magnification or filters from a distance of 50 cm.
    • Staff will not offer printing service for your team notes. Please prepare your team notes before the practice session, and bring them to the contest site during practice session.

Contest Preparation (3/3)

  • Teams are not allowed to bring the following things.
    • Any machine readable materials.
    • Any communication devices (cellphone, smart watch, etc).
    • Any electronic devices (including digital watches and keyboards).
    • Extra blank paper or graph paper.
    • Foods and drinks.
  • All items should be brought to the contest site during the practice contest, and should be left on the the team table for inspection after the practice. If the item passes the inspection, then it will be put on the team table before the contest session.

Contest Day Reminder

  • Bring your student ID with you. Put it into your badge. Do not left it with your baggage.
  • Do not wear any watch, since we don’t have time to check it.
  • We will provide foods and drinks in the refreshment zone, but don’t bring them to your working area.
    • Please label any unfinished food or drinks with a sticker.
  • Do not talk to any contestant or coach during the contest. The only exception is talking to your teammate in your working area.
