Financial Requests

Risers Request - $14K ($4K already in budget from cost savings on picnic tables)

8 risers needed, holds 100 choir students, but can be used elsewhere around school
Each riser is $1,600; fold flat for easy storage and portability
Recommend purchase of 8 risers

BrainPop/BrainPop Jr. - $4,140 (already in budget)

Conducted a survey of staff utilizing BrainPop due to limited uptake of tool
For those using it, they find it extremely valuable. Others expressed they needed to become acclimated with the tool and anticipated increased use in year ahead
Recommend 1 year renewal and monitor usage

Financial Requests

Special Opportunities Fund - $10K (new)

Last year, spent $13K on this fund
Would like to narrow slightly this year to focus on reusable/multi use items that are additive to the classroom and curriculum

Faculty Appreciation Week - $7K ($5K in budget)

FAW team is requesting an increase in support from $5K to $7K

Technology Use & AI

Both the use of AI and the use of technology are hot topics
Participating in Quad 1 Family Vision Group

Spoke directly w/ Dr. Reid on implications of AI and amount of tech use
Planning AI Literacy Courses to be hosted via FCPS Parent Academy
Several resources:

Lunch Volunteers (Level 1)

Cafeteria continues to be an area with a high number of behavior referrals
Circulate, encourage students, and positively reinforce expectations
Schoolwide “March Madness” incentive - grade levels can earn basketballs by demonstrating strong self-management skills
