Inner Sea Region

The Inner Sea region refers to the continent of Avistan and the northern third of the continent of Garund, both of which surround the Inner Sea. At the heart of this region is the City at the Center of the World: Absalom. The farther one gets from Absalom traveling north or south, the farther one travels from cosmopolitan civilization, although there are always exceptions. The Inner Sea region is also the center for trade in this part of Golarion, and has therefore been the staging area for countless, terrible wars over the past ten millennia.

Shining Kingdoms Region

The history of the region known as the Shining Kingdoms is long and storied, most notably as the heart of the once-mighty empire of Taldor. While Taldan influence is still heavy across the region—from ethnicity and language to cultural traditions and even infrastructure—the area was already home to many before Taldor’s Azlanti progenitors settled here. Humans of the Kellid ethnicity, along with elves, dwarves, and gnomes, made their homes here in ages past, and their descendants remain to this day, having witnessed the rise and fall of heroes, empires, and even gods.

Taldor

Knights, fair maidens, heroic adventures, and righteous quests—these are the legends of old Taldor. But the once-powerful empire has fallen from its former glory. Now rival nobles battle each other with bitter knights and proxy armies for personal power rather than honor.

Oppara

Oppara, the City of Empire is the capital of Taldor, and by far the largest city in the realm. It is an ancient and thriving city which earned the title the Gilded City because of the many roofs, spires, and domes that once glittered with gold plating in the high afternoon sun. Even though the metal was long ago stripped away, Oppara remains the example of what the empire once was and what it could be again, though, today, it is plagued with mismanagement, selfish aristocrats, poverty, and crime.

Taldor

Eleven major claims have been made for the throne by various nobles claiming relations to the Stavian line. Two candidates in particular—Princess Eutropia and High Strategos Maxillar Pythareus—stand above the rest, and various nobles and polities have already begun arguing that their chosen scion is the true inheritor of the Primogen Crown.
