• First women’s college in Madurai.
• Founded by Miss Katie Wilcox, an American missionary with dedicatory zeal and vision, on July 14^th 1948.
• Funded by A Friend of the Founder-Lady Helen Doak and therefore named after her.

• Started In 1948
• Develops Character, Discipline , a secular outlook , spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst citizens.
• There are two categories of achievements-

International Study Center

• The International Studies Center is a stop point for students who are lovers of different cultures.
• It’s a student club which is lead by the students for the students.
• It’s a place where the Internationals and students on campus work together and learn from each other.
• The Club works on – Film Screening, Creative Writing, Safe Space,

and Open Forum Discussions mainly.

Various Collections of Novels.

• The Club Organizes many events based on monthly themes where

the students exhibit their talents and get a platform to develop

their Skills apart from academic areas.

Life Frontier Engagement

• LFE is the final year project of every student where they work directly on their project fields.
• The concept of LFE is not just Project Creation but also Project application in the society to ascertain results.
• The Academic Objective of LFE is to put into practice all the findings of the students and the secondary objective is to benefit the community by way of putting this project into practice.
• The whole concept of LFE is like a Mini Research with practical application which helps students gain work experience and also a chance to work together with the community people.
• The Final report of this project is prepared and presented by the student in the final semester.
