Pre-Lab:

Big Question: How does the Mass of an object affect the amount of energy in the system?

Hypothesis: As I ______________ (increase/decrease) the mass of the asteroid, the amount of energy in the system will _____________(increase/decrease).

Questions:

  1. What is representing the asteroid in this lab?
  2. What are we measuring to indicate the amount of energy in the system? (The responding variable)

Measuring

Use a ruler to measure the depth of the crater in cm!

Gently shake the flour after each trial so you start with a flat surface
