Ms. Piccott

Hometown: Dartmouth, NS

Experience: I have been teaching for 13 years, a Learning Centre teacher for 11 of those years. I have 2 Masters and a Visual Art Certificate from NSCAD.

Favourite Things:

  • Painting, Arts & Crafts
  • Scrapbooking & Photography
  • Gardening
  • Camping & the outdoors
  • Outings with my husband and 2 girls (Merrigan & Louisa)

Experience: I am a new Learning Centre teacher and have started my Masters in Special Needs Education at MSVU.

Communication: We communicate via email and phone calls.

  • We do make positive calls, so don’t panic if you see the school calling.
  • Also, any parent is allowed to make an appointment to see me in the school.

Expectations

There is a lot of non-academic learning that occurs throughout the year. For instance, learning to interact within a large group, follow school expectations and gaining good work habits are important parts of a students’ development.

Students are encouraged to demonstrate respect for themselves, others, learning and the environment! We encourage students to maintain a positive attitude toward learning by listening carefully, working hard, doing their best and taking part in all activities.
