About Laboratory

The Transportation Engineering Laboratory provides students with practical knowledge of materials used in transportation and pavement construction. The laboratory helps students understand the properties of aggregates and bitumen through standard testing procedures. These tests are important for selecting suitable materials and ensuring the quality of road construction works.

Aggregates: Crushing Value Test: Measuring crushing resistance of aggregates.

Aggregates: Los Angeles Abrasion Test: Measuring abrasion resistance of aggregates.

Aggregates: Impact Test: Measuring toughness of aggregates.

Aggregates: Shape Test: Determining elongation and flakiness indices.

Aggregates: Specific Gravity and Water Absorption Test: Determining density and water absorption.

Bitumen: Penetration Test: Determining bitumen consistency.

Bitumen: Ductility Test: Determining bitumen ductility.

Bitumen: Softening Point Test: Determining softening temperature.

Bitumen: Flash and Fire Point Test: Determining flash and fire temperatures.
