Local organizer/TD/IT Support

    • FIDE arbiter license is NOT required for the local TD/Support

    • Must be able to secure a physical venue with stable internet connection
    • Must obey local COVID-19 regulation so players can play safely in the same physical venue

Player

  • Contact local organizer to make sure you can play in the specified venue for all your games
  • Bring your own laptop with charger
  • Players - Team Average FIDE 2200+/USCF 2200+
  • Lower rated players (USCF 2200+/FIDE 2000+) allowed case by case
  • PNWCC provides conditions to foreign (non-USA) titled players (GM/IM) in the form of guaranteed prize + fairplay bonus

Fair Play - Venue/TD requirements

  1. Multiple cameras must setup and join ZOOM to monitor all players in the venue
  2. One camera must monitor the entrance of the restroom
  3. Must provide a mobile camera in case we need to monitor a specific player
  4. TD must make sure no non-player/non-organizer/non-arbiter persons on site
  5. TD must make sure players have no cell phones with them or hidden in the restroom
  6. TD must keep real time communication with other TD’s/organizers/chief arbiters via Skype group to address any concerns quickly
  7. PNWCC will pay fair play bonus to TD and organizers if no fair play violations detected in the venue

Fair Play - Player

  • Play on own computer, with only one browser and one tab open
  • The other program that can open is ZOOM
  • No other programs can open during your game
  • All players must share desktop (not just the browser window) on zoom
  • May be requested to open camera
  • Can only talk to local arbiter/TD if have questions
  • Must close computer lid right after game and leave the venue after report results to TD
  • Can NOT analyze own or other players game in the venue
  • Can NOT bring phone to the venue
  • All non-titled players will be required to pay a refundable fair-play deposit (amount to be determined). If FIDE determines a player violates fair play rules, the deposit will be forfeited. PNWCC can use it for anything that PNWCC sees fit.
  • Titled player will lose conditions and/or bonus if violate the fair play rules

Fair Play - Detection

  • Chess.com fair play detection system will trigger further investigation
  • The only Fair Play software authorised by FIDE is the FIDE Game Screening Tool. FIDE Fair Play Commission (FPL) will make final decision on game results.
