SAINT CATHERINE OF SIENA: WHAT DOES GOD'S WORD TELL US TODAY?

SAINT CATHERINE OF SIENA : WHAT DOES GOD'S WORD TELL US TODAY?

The Ascension of Jesus

When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them.  While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.

Luke 24:50-51

SAINT CATHERINE OF SIENA: WHAT DOES GOD'S WORD TELL US TODAY?

Saint Catherine teaches us that true transcendence involves a heart ablaze with divine love. As Jesus ascends, He blesses His disciples, leaving them not with sorrow, but with a mission. Transcendence, then, is not an escape but an elevation—rising above worldly attachments to embrace a higher calling. Let us, like Saint Catherine, seek to ascend in spirit, allowing God's love to lift us beyond ourselves.

  • “I will rise by loving others.”
  • “Transcendence means forgiving and staying united.”
