What is Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya?

“Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya is the army of Tahrik-e-Jadid and I hope that more and more people will join this army and prove through their practical struggle that they have understood their responsibilities.” (18 November, 1938)

Tahrik-e-Jadid and its

Background

5 of 22

Extremely Difficult Times of 1930s

    • Post World War I and The Great Depression
    • The Jama’at was young
    • Great political turmoil in British India
    • The issue of Majlis-e-Ahraar

6 of 22

The Issue of Ahraar

    • Majlis-e-Ahraar was a socialist movement backed by the Indian National Congress. Muslim leaders equated Islam to socialism.
    • They wanted a united India and to get rid of the British.
    • Ahraar were funded by the Indian National Congress, and opposed to the All India Muslim League led by Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
    • This India National Congress had the agenda to evict the British, create a homogenised India, and systematically eradicate Muslim identity and religion.

    • Majlis-e-Ahraar viewed Jama’at Ahmadiyya and Hazrat Musleh Maud (ra) as a threat to their political ideology.
    • Ahraar sabotaged the Kashmir Committee and tried to disrupt the Kashmir issue due to Jama’at’s involvement.
    • This is when they publicly started labeling the Jama’at as an agent of the British government.

Ahraar and Ahmadiyyat

    • They planned to murder Ahmadis, discredit Jama’at by hatching conspiracies, creating propaganda, and inciting the government.
    • They claimed that we will remove every last brick of Qadian and owls and vultures will circle its remains.

The Problems Increase

    • As tensions grew, Hazrat Musleh Maud (ra) announced that Allah has shown him the antidote of this poison, and stated that “I am watching the Earth slide away from beneath the feet of Ahraar.” Huzoor (ra) stated that he will announce a scheme to overcome these challenges very soon.
    • Huzur (ra) stated: “All of you get together and make plans day and night. And bring your plans to perfection, and gather all your strength and fixate on wiping out Ahmadiyyat. But remember that you all will be humiliated and become merged with the dust. You will be destroyed and God will give victory to me and my Jama’at because the path that God has set me on is the path of victory.”

The Solution

Before announcing the scheme, Hazrat Musleh Maud (ra) laid out three action items:

Divine Roots of Tahrik-e-Jadid

“I have said that I launched Tahrik-e-Jadid. But this is not correct. I did not have it in my mind at all. Suddenly, this inspiration came to my heart from Allah Almighty. So without me committing any kind of misrepresentation, I can say that the Tahrik-e-Jadid that God revealed was not in my mind before and I was completely empty minded. Suddenly, Allah revealed this scheme to my heart and I presented it to the Jama’at. So this is not my movement but a movement revealed by God Almighty.” (27 November 1942)

Divine Roots of Tahrik-e-Jadid

“Do not think that Tahrik-e-Jadid is from me. No, in fact I can prove every single word of it from the Holy Quran and I can show every command in the sayings of the Holy Prophet.” (December 13, 1934)

Magnitude of Tahrik-e-Jadid

I do not understand why people are negligent towards participating in Tahrik-e-Jadid despite its utmost importance. Perhaps they have surmised that since foreign missions have been established we have fulfilled our duty of tabligh and discharged our responisbility. Even though our efforts amount to nothing in front of the immense responsibility of tabligh. Our missionaries can be counted on fingers. If we are to do tabligh in its true meaning then there should be a missionary for every 300 persons.

Bear in mind that we will only fulfill our duty of tabligh when every single person has received the message of Islam Ahmadiyyat and its truthfulness is made appartent to them. In light of the current world population we need hundreds of thousands of missionaries. In contrast, we have only sent a few hundreds missionaries around the world which do not even amount to the level of salt in bread.

I say this with complete sadness that our friends have not realized the importance of this Tahrik and have not understood their responsibilities.

If they were to understand its signficance then would have sacrificed everything and they would not have even hesistated to sell the clothes on their back.

Future of Tahrik-e-Jadid

"If you act in accordance with (the principles) of Tahrik-e-Jadid then one day you will be given a kingdom as a people.”

Future of Tahrik-e-Jadid

“Allah has ordained for you days of rejoice. But to bring those days of joy closer, you must make a great sacrfice so that the days of victory draw nearer.”

Future of Tahrik-e-Jadid

“Do not think that if money comes in large sums you are free from sacrifice. Even if large amounts of donations come in, the task ahead of us is massive. We have to establish Islamic governance in the world. We have to establish that order in the world, which Islam wishes to establish. We must provide every single person with food. We must provide every single person with clothing. We must provde every single person with housing. We must provide treatment for every patient. We must provide every single person with education.

Can all of these things be established with ease? For these things to occur we need billions and billions of dollars. And if even if billions and billions of donations were to be received, the money would be depleted, but the work ahead of us would continue to increase.”

Khutba Juma'ah March 31st, 1944

22 of 22

"Increase your contributions and attract the mercy of Allah because whatever you donate will be returned to you a thousand fold. Eventually, the entire world’s wealth will be placed at your feet. It will be your duty to spend it for the Ahmadiyya Jama’at so that missionaries can be sent far and wide, Islam can be spread all over the world, and so that all of the world’s governments enter Islam.

This may seem too big for you, but for Allah, it is nothing. With this, I announce the beginning of the new year of Tahrik-e-Jadid."
