Hi, I’m Clark Abrahamsen and I researched gladiators. I wanted to know more about them and if they could every retire or if they just fought for their whole normally short lives. I found out about the different types of gladiators and found it cool that they were recognized by what they wore and by what they used to fight. So I made an iMovie because I have a green screen and fake swords and shields.

Welcome to Pompeii. The materials that I used and found are all from my house or online. To make the buried people of Pompeii look more real, I used real ash from the fireplace in my living room. The physical people and ruins of houses are made out of clay from Laguna Clay Company. The bigger rocks used as a crosswalk are from my garden, and the pebbles glued onto the cardboard base are from the side of the road.

My name is Josh and I decided to do the Colosseum and how it worked. I thought it was really cool how there were underground water pipes beneath the Colosseum. There also was a trapdoor and elevator system where a capstan would raise animals like elephants and pop up in the arena out of nowhere.

My name is Isabella and I researched Pompeii. I decided to do Pompeii because we never learned about it in school and I think it’s so cool that it’s still a big mystery. When I was researching Pompeii I found out that there was 1.5 million tons of rock and ash being spit out of the volcano every second!! And it only took 19 hours to cover and destroy all of Pompeii and a nearby city, Herculaneum.

Hi, I am Preston, and I chose Ancient Greek medicine for my research topic. First, because I plan to work in the medical field when I am older. Second, I wanted to see how the Ancient Greek medicines, tools and surgerys differed from today’s. Third, I thought that the Ancient Greeks would have some fascinating and exotic medicine and medical processes and they did. Lastly I created a diagram of the Ancient Greek tools, surgerys, and medicine and presented them in a video.

Hi, I’m Henry Trowbridge and I researched Greek Ships. I was interested to see how Greek ships were designed through history. I also choose to do Greek ships because you always hear, “Then he sailed to an island.”, but you never hear anything about the boat, unless it’s tiny or huge. I thought it was really fun, and I hope you will enjoy it too.
