When schools, families, and communities work together to support learning, children tend to do better in school, stay in school longer, and enjoy school more.

About the Parent and Family Engagement Plan

Title I-Part A provides for family engagement at every level of the program, such as development and implementation of the district and school plan and in carrying out the district and school improvement provisions.

Section 1116 of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) contains the primary Title I-Part A requirements for schools and school districts to involve parents and family members in their child's education.

Consistent with Section 1116, BRES will work with the district to ensure that the required school-level parent and family engagement plan meets the requirements of Section 1116(b) and included, as a component, a school-parent compact consistent with Section 1116(d) of ESSA.

Jointly Developed

Each school year, parents, staff, and students are asked to complete a survey about Bobby Ray Memorial Elementary School and the effectiveness of our program.  These surveys are reviewed and discussed to determine how best to meet the needs of all stakeholders.

In early August, parents are encouraged to view a presentation about our school and are invited to join in our efforts to make BRES the best it can be. Parents are encouraged to attend meetings and school events in person or virtually when applicable throughout the school year.  The school parent and family engagement plan is posted on our school website and distributed during registration/open house/Title 1 Meeting night.

Each school year, Warren County Schools will also conduct a Parent Climate Survey to evaluate the content and effectiveness of Bobby Ray Elementary School’s parent engagement plan and family engagement activities to improve the academic quality of our Title I school. In January, BRES will send home an email link to the Climate Survey for parents to provide valuable feedback regarding the school program.  The survey link will also be posted on the district and school websites.  BRES will use the results from the survey to improve school practices and programs, to remove possible barriers to parent participation, and to revise the parent engagement plan.
