    • Removed unnecessary pictures/text that our templates gave us
  • Learned about how to interview someone you’re making a website for

A quick note

  • There will always be more to learn about Weebly
  • If we don’t cover something that you want to do on your site, you can:
    • Ask us! (in class, or our contact info is on bit.ly/digital-champs)
    • Experiment!
    • Google! (if you’re having trouble with something, someone else probably has too)

Task 1: Plan your menu!

Your current Weebly template probably has some kind of menu near the top of the page

Task 1: Plan your menu!

  • Take 5 minutes
    • Think of at least two other sections your site could have
      • “What are some of the activities that people might do here?”
      • “What are some of the categories of information my site will have?”
  • Already thought of these?
    • Use the “Pages” menu of Weebly to see if you can figure out how to add these sections as new pages
    • (We’ll walk everyone through this in just a bit)

Task 2: Create new pages!

  • For one of your menu items, create a new page!

10

Task 3: Add a little content!

  • On most sites, each “section” page has a title and text to tell the user what the section is about
  • Add these to your new page
  • (Don’t stress about the text - you can always change it later)
  • Already added these? How about a picture?

11

Task 4: Linking between pages

  • Link some of your text to your Home page (or another on your site if you have one)
  • (You can also do this with buttons, images, and other content)

Task 5: Add a video (or something else)!

  • Text is fun and necessary, but don’t forget to make your site more inviting by adding media / user interaction
  • YouTube videos are a good one
  • Other good options
    • Social icons
    • Contact form
    • RSVP form
    • Survey
